How much should a coilover/spring install cost?

Whoa is me!!! Trying to rack my brain into deciding over a coilover or a spring kit.

I'm thinking of getting the PSS9's, but then again they are pricey and I do not really track the car, but do push it a little on the highways and byways. I would love to drop the dough on them though and do it right the first time. That being said, what would it cost roughly to install and corner balance? Anyone have a shop they would recommend in Northern VA/MD area?

I'm thinking I can also just go for the easy route to get the aggressive look through the H&R Springs w/ the stock shock set up. Definitely not a long term solution, but will fit the bill of what I would like. I'm sure I should just be patient, save up and go for the PSS9's, but still interested in hearing everyone's opinion on this set up, how much it should cost for install/corner balance?

Thanks in advance everyone.

This has been debated on and on and on, do a search, Bilsteins + install and alignment, you are looking at a little over 2k

I'm assuming this for your C4S w/ the 19" SSR's- How is the fender gap presently with those wheels and the factory suspension?

Thinking of doing a similar suspension mod and upgrading to 19's - I'll probably go the HR or Eibach route w/ Bilstein sport or HD shocks. Just wondering how it will look of I end up getting the 19's first before applying the suspension mod.

Go with PSS9s and be done with it....If you do just springs, you need new shicks designed for lowered springs, so you are now buying springs and shocks, also to instal springs and shocks seperately its more expensive because the coilovers install as one unit....you will need an alignment with both. the price difference is probably less than $500 after install....so for an extra $500 wouldnt you like the option to have the ride height you want, not pre-determined by someone else, and wouldnt you like to have the option to adjust the dampening how you like it? By the way, the PSS9 will have a better, smoother ride, than any other suspension....also you get a system MATCHED to work together, not a spring by one company and a shock by another. Its why PSS9's are so popular, they are hard to beat...best mod I did....

Yes, it's for the C4S w/ 19". The fender gap right now is about 2 fingers. From sounds of things, I should save up for the PSS9's. I'll keep you posted once I get them installed.

Newport,

You're right man!!! I should save up. How much should a typical install cost to get the PSS9's, plus alignment and corner balance? What's the going rate so I know I'm not getting robbed? Thanks.

appreciate the info- Seems like I might just need to go the PSS9 route as well.
I can handle the install myself and have a buddy with an alignment shop.
Is a corner balance neccessary or more important for track driving only?

Don't really know. I think initially a corner balancing should be done, but I'm not sure. That's something I'm hoping someone else in the forum can answer, but it seems to be standard protocol. The amount we'll be spending anyway, might as well go for it. G/L with the project. Getting my MISHA GT2 wing this week and hopefully installed in the next couple, then onto the PSS9's.
