Tire help...Again! :(

Well...it turns out the old "if it's too good to be true...." was right. For the last 40 days i've been waiting for my "back-ordered" toyo TR-1's to come in and i called today and the guy said i would be at least another 30 days. I cant wait that long...summer is coming/here

So now i need an alternative?! My wheels are the SSR's 19" w/ 8.5 and 10.5 widths. I use my car on the highway ALOT (50 miles each way to work when i take it 1-3 days a week), but i also do quite a bit of spirited driving. I would rather keep the total bill below $1000.

Any thoughts...

4 19"s for under $1K, that will be tough. See if the Bridgestone Potenza RE050 come in a size that works for you. A great tire, good wearing for a ultra high performance tire and reasonalbly priced.

Ucrazy, you gotta make sure to be clear on which RE050A... the only ones worth putting on are the Pole Positions as these are just as good as the PS2s but a bit cheaper

I have used the non Pole Positions and non Assymetric (A) on other cars and have been really pleased with the. I would recommend them in any form.

From you experience it sounds like the PPs are the best for the Porsche application.

most def - the others for a performance car are questionable at best but that's all relative to what you're used to

the only reason i'm using PS2s now v. the PPs are.. i need 315s and they don't make 315s yet

Well I had the RE050 on my S2000 and I consider it a performance car, especially since it pulled .92 G in conrnering stock.

The RE050 is also standard on the BMW Z4, and several MB AMG models, all considered perfromance oriented vehicles.

im actually in the process of getting the re050 pole positions... I was going to get the yoko ado7s but i just noticed that tire rack jacked up the price. I have heard many many good things about the pole positions - there really isnt any other tire in the same price range with the same performance.

I have a tire size fitment question-
Currently have Pzero 285/30/18 N4 on the rear of my '02 C2 (and matching Pzero N4's up front). Rear tires are very worn.
I have a good deal that came my way on a pair of 295/30/18 Pzero N3's.
Will these fit, and will the N3's go with the front N4's?

Trying to save a bit of coin on rear tires as I will be eventually upgrading to 19" wheels.

i would venture to say the RE050A POLE POSITIONS are as good as the PS2s regardless of the fact that they are cheaper.
