First Turbo Experience
First Turbo Experience
Hey all,
not too many of you know me on here as of yet, but regardless, i am 21 and completing a business degree in north vancouver and i work in a ski/board shop to pay some of the bills. anyway today, i was lucky enough to sell a pair of skis to a long time porsche enthusiast. upon sealing the deal on the skis we went out in the lot to see his new car, and of course he happened to be sporting a new 997 Turbo.
Anyways, I expressed my enthusiasm for the car and how i had become apart of certain porsche forums on the net. Somehow, he generously offered me the keys to take the beast for a run around the block. To sum it up in 2 minutes or less, it was everything i hoped it would be. I envy all you 997 turbo owners on here, and with my new experience behind the wheel i am just that much more of an enthusiast.

WOW! That guy is some trusting soul. To me that would be like loaning my toothbrush to a total stranger, but then I'm a selfish, self centered SOB. As noted above study and hard work will get you to the promised land.

Maybe there is a 1912 Roll-Royce in his garage that he wouldn't give out for runs around the block
.Cheers,
Zubin.

Awesome stuff, that will be a memory you will have forever. Reminds me a lot of a neighbor of mine who happens to house an F40 in a completely normal looking house. The first day I met him he gave me a ride in the F40 that will live in my mind forever!
your so lucky! I have only driven a porsche 996 turbo at my work (valet at an expensive steakhouse) and that i thought was a rocket! i hope someday a 997 turbo comes into work.
PS. the owner let me take it around the block.
