Horror story at Circuit City (installing dension)---Need Advice
It was a most terrible experience today: I ordered the Dension Ipod and Bluetooth from Eric and decided to let Circuit City install it. When I went to pick up the car, they told me one of the wheels were damaged. When I took a look, they totally damaged the wheel and tire, the suspension was broken, and the the wheel/tire was turning sideways. The car also smelled very bad rubber and I am not sure if there's anything wrong with the clutch. It turned out one guy at the audio installation department drove my car recklessly at their parking lot and hit the curb. I called the police. and according to the estimate on the skid marks (over 80 feet leading to the point of impact), he was probably driving 60-80 miles/hr---in the parking lot!

You may want to contact a lawyer. I cannot believe what they did to your car. Some distributors may have that wheel in stock, since it seems like the monoblock is a very popular wheel.
It's also very possible that they were poping the clutch, and riding the hell out of it.

Vig - Circuit City has insurance. They have no excuse for this reckless and illegal conduct. Contact an attorney to understand your rights. Hopefully some 6speeders in your area can make a recommendation - if you don't care about geography, I'll ask my contacts in So Cal.
Take the car to a shop to assess damage, repair costs for the suspension, rims (which may need replacing), and tires, etc. There's no reason you shouldn't be made completely whole here, and then Circuit City should throw something in for your troubles. If you care, you might also require that they reprimand the culprit.
If the attorney advises you to, I would contact Circuit City (they probably have a risk department that you can call, or which will call you) and see how they intend to handle the matter.
In sum, consult an attorney, get a complete damage report, replacement costs, and be wary if Circuit City calls you asking for more than basic information until you've spoken with an attorney.
Sorry to hear about your accident.

Thanks for the quick reply! My other question is, if Circuit City's insurance company will cover the costs, as the store promised me, what am I going to sue them for? Obviously, the time spent to deal with this, and all the bs that came with it, will not be a small burden for me. (I own a manufacturing/distribution company.) But yes, I think I definitely should talk to a lawyer in NJ.
Honestly, I do feel bad for you. You have a very nice car and you seem like a nice guy and a smart business owner who has done well for himself, but on the other hand you should've expected this.
You took your car to Circut City... Circut City is a low end retailer certainly not specializing in car audio. They rarely see vehicles that are worth over $50,000, their usual customer are local minorities installing sub boxes and amps. You took a $100,000+ modded supercar and left them the keys. Forgetting the fact that you took your car there, you should've sat there and watched them install it if Circut City was indeed your only option. I can't even begin to imagine what kind of techniques they used to take apart the interior to install the adapter. Nobody except a high end shop should ever work on an expensive vehicle like yours ( use the forum - it's a great tool for finding proven shops around you). Not because they know how to attach a cable any differently then Circut City, but because situations like these are avoided and you know your car is in good hands while you're not with it.
Rants aside, I really hope you get some money out of this to fix your car. Hope you learned you lesson as well.
You should probably higher a good lawyer and take many pictures of the damage. You can also possibly explore the option of having the store provide surveillance footage of the parking lot where the joy riding took place. Circut City will try to save there *** from the costs, so it's essential to preserve any evidence you have. It would've been the most beneficial to take pictures of the damage and skid marks before you drove your car out of Circut City. That way you can throw out any chance of them saying damage was bit done while the vehicle was in their hands.

You were right: that's really a stupid thing I did. I called and they told me they needed at least three hours so I left the car there. The reason I took it there was because i thought it was an easy job. I planned to do it myself and decided not to mess with it. That proved to be a big mistake.
I've also caught the dealer numerous times joy riding my car; from 85 mile joy rides to the city and back to pulling out of back exits to pickup fast food (Knauz BMW in Lake Bluff, Illinois). I've changed dealers and now sit in the service center watching my car (and all available dealer exits) for the entire time it is there until it is returned to my possession. I just do not understand how any of this takes place, or why it does take place in the first place. Especially at high end marque dealers, or even at places like Circut City. That's just how careless and rude our society is these days. It's also the product of low wages these dealers and audio shops pay that attract minorities and other lower income laborers that have a total disregard for other peoples property.

Get a lawyer. You can then discuss w/ your lawyer what you "want". From there, your lawyer will contact your insurance company (if needed). And more importantly, your lawyer will contact Circuit City's legal department and their insurance company.
I would also discuss the details w/ the techs from your local Porsche dealership as well as an excellent Porsche bodyshop near you for ideas on what type of repairs you're looking at.
Sorry to hear about the numbnut 23 year old that took your car for a joyride.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I've learned the hard way in the past about being picky with shops and audio installers (luckily with my old Nissan and Honda).
Ever since then, I learned that you get what you pay for, and research, reputation and referrals count for a lot more than a few bucks saved.
Hope all gets resolved and the car comes back good as new!

Wow that really sucks.....I would not settle for anything less than a replacement car. In today's sue happy world, I'm sure you can find someone to take a case against Circuit City.....Just think of the dip that is suing for $50 mil for loss of his pants at the dry cleaners.
FWIW, this morning I did see a CGT at our local Best Buy getting some new speakers......they had interior parts all over the place. It was a mess.

He's not getting a replacement car, guys. But their insurance policy should cover anything else he wants, Circuit City's financial status notwithstanding.
And this isn't about a "sue happy" world. These are the cases for which we should be thankful that there's somebody representing the individual who gets screwed because of a company's employee's ineptitude and recklessness. The company will make you a decent first offer. If that's nowhere near what you want, chances are that an aggressive attorney will be needed to bridge the gap.
