Tubi Race Exhaust

Has anyone spent some time in a car with a regular Tubi and then changed to the race exhaust? The few sound clips are amazing but it's hard to tell .

I have a few concerns -

1) Will the cabin be so loud that I would want to place my regular Tubi back ?
2) Will exterior noise level mesh with city driving ?
3) I think Fl laws allow a race exhaust unless selling the car but if I drive out of state would I face issues of it being street legal? In short what are the laws ?
4) Will it make my current 700 kit even more intense ? .. This is actually a good thing if it will . If so --how intense?

The main issue would be the lack of cats and the ability to pass emmissions. Personally I think it's going to be too loud for daily driving.

The tubi race exhaust got no cats I think? That definitly make more power for upgraded VTG turbos.I am going to cut off those 2 200-cell cats from my EVOMS exhaust and dyno the car this week, maybe I can upload the result after the dyno to help you have an idea..

Thanks guys . I look forward to the sound clip and am even hoping to hear a cabin clip at 2500 PRM (slow speed) to try and detect resonance/drone.

7300 as of today . Still on the fence with the Tubi race . I currently have the regular Tubi and they are great . Hopefully this thread will generate multiple opinions , sound clips, and info that leads to a decision.

Hi yrralis,

Are you upgrading for more power, or is the sound of the regular Tubi either not loud/aggressive enough or lacking in low frequency to your ears? If it's the former, never mind. If it's the latter, I have some opinions that might help.

I've auditioned AWE, Tubi, Cargraphic, GMG, etc.

Can - I like the sound and quality of the Tubi but I hear the clips on Sharky's "race exhaust" cars and combined with the power it might deliver question whether it would be suited for my needs .

I know awhile back you were looking at exhausts ans it also seems like you explored a few choices . What did you end up getting?

Can,

out of the few exhausts you have auditioned, which one has the best overall sound? ( i am looking for one that will sound meaty / throaty) and not something that sounds too tin cannish.

i heard cargraphics loud exhaust sounds the best out of the ones you tested. is that true?
how does the regular tubi sound vs. cargraphics loud exhaust?

Thank you

yrralis1,

I went from the regular Tubi to the Race. Around town is good and I am happy with it. Slightly more cabin noise but not over the top. When you get on the gas you will hear more in the cabin obviously. 700 kit and "BAM" you have a winner! Very noticiable in norm and sport mode. Add 104+ and hold on...

Side note: I felt that I may have lost some power between 65-85mph but I did have one passenger at the time. Maybe not-who knows?

I will let you know more the next time I'm out.

*Note when you get on it there is no doubt it is loud!

Thanks N2it .The insights were very helpful. I would hang on to my regular Tubi's just in case. I agree that the race has to put the juice in the punch .

I'm going to wait a little . Eventually I'll be a able to hear this in my area in person and unlike the sight unseen purchases I can do this anytime .

I love to hear this thing snap-crackle-pop through the shifts. Put it this way, I drive with my windows 1/2 way down or cracked all the time so I can listen to it sing.

You have patience, something I need to work on .

92 db Laguna Seca max sound level?

I hope this isn't highjacking, but can anyone tell me what is the exterior decibel level of the AWE exhaust (200 cats)? I know from their web site that the interior decibel level is up to 85 under full throttle. I'm asking because I'd like to do a one or two day driving event at Laguna Seca and they are strict about their 92 (exterior) decibel level for these events. I don't want to show up and be too loud and lose my registration fees.

Anyone know the db level or have driven LS with the AWE 200 cat exhaust (great exhaust)?

Thanks!
K.
