GT3 Style bumper vent on TT???

Have any of you guys had the bumper grill added to your TT's? I like this look and am wondering if it is doable on our cars? Did a search but maybe used the wrong terms? I think that the GT2 style is recessed in the bumper and the vent is different than the GT3's which seems to sit atop the bumper. There is a OEM carbon fiber GT2 vent grill on C'list for $300 but I am not sure that would work here. Any pics are welcome! Thanx!

The GT2 has the vent molded into the bumper so you would need an entire front bumper. The GT3 vent can be installed into the TT bumper but you do have to cut your bumper. Suncoast sells the GT3 vent and they are pretty cheap. If you proceed, make sure you install the vent in the proper location - many of the installs are too far forward. There are lots of threads on this topic here and on RennTeam so do a quick search.

It looks good so long as your Turbo is lowered, on a stock looking car its a bit...shall we say...out of place.

Thank you for the info./pic. I wonder why I could not get any search results??? Anyway, I would ensure that I had the correct spacing measurement from the hood seam before proceeding. I think this will be a near term "mod" for me as I really like the look....adds a certain "serious business" look to the car!

Had this done also and love the look on light colored cars really seems to break up all the silver in my case on the front.Correct location is important but also look out for the brackets they have to fabricated to install vent, on mine it created some visible bumps under the bumper that can be seen in the right light. Not sure how to link but no of a long discussion on this topic under so cal events section a while back on page 4 titled GT3 grill install.

couple of members done this mod. It do make the 997TT front look more aggressive. Techart and us carry carbon version of that GT3 grill as well.

I have seen an actual Gt3 bumper on a 997tt .

I did the Techart type 1 which includes mirror inserts and roof spoiler. From the front it has the carbon vent and mirror inserts in carbon.

Do these vents add any performance value to the car? They look great and add style but I am wondering.

I feel that the entire aerokit has a design purpose . Just throwing a vent on the car would not be a completed package. A vent alone doesn't do anything. The entire setup has improved the car's stability .

Bonehead - yes we do the work here. No problem.

KA - it has cooling purposes to keep air flow moving over the radiators.

Yes, it would be possible to add the look to your car. We have done such work for our customers in the past.

Check it out: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ront-back.html

Let me know if I can be of any help.
