Do headers raise intake temp or lower it?

I have a long list of things I need to fix and clean up on my ride, so I am researching a few here, first thing that is starting to make sense to me is a good set of headers to complement the Larger VTG's and the Fabspeed exhaust. Those who have headers which brand did you go with? Please share your experience with me and most important, does it raise or lower the intake temp? Post pics please.

I have FVD headers...no pictures though...sorry about that. I also have no idea on what it does to intake temp...I'm not being of much use am I?

All I can say is that the car sounds better and runs faster since I put them in. I'm extremely happy with them.

I had the dealer do the install...was about $375 (including gaskets, etc.)

I don't know why more people don't do headers to be honest...seems like an integral part of the equation to me.

Fabspeed headers, good fit/quality, 30 minute install max.
I don't think aftermarket headers are significantly different from stock to raise/lower intake/exhaust temps to any significant level. They are probably a good idea on a flashed car.

Probably about 5-7 hp according to the guys at farnbacherloles, better flow, less backpressure (slightly, as the stock headers aren't exactly shabby).

I was thinking maybe more torque as turbos do better with less restriction and less back-pressure.
I guess I will start looking for some. It would be nice to see some of the vendors do a full dyno before and after install with enough data to see all the details.

Intake temps are affected by amount of time on boost, pressure of boost, and intercooler efficiency (and of course outside temps). I would say that headers would have no effect on intake temps unless you loved the new sound/feeling so much you were on the boost heavy all the time!

That sounds right plus on some tt;s depending on turbo set up may help for quick spool time which I had with my old turbo set up.

Sorry I wan't more clear...$375 was labor and gaskets, etc. Purchase of the headers was separate.

I can't remember off hand but I believe they provide 15 more ft lbs torque and 10 or so ponies...whatever it is...the car is faster and the turbo spooling sound is definitely improved as well...

IMO, spool time improvement is the main reason to install them. No effect on IATs that I know of.
