ECU Codes P0021

Awhile ago my the code P0021 came on while I was driving as I pushed the car pretty hard right at startup. I cleared the code the day after with an OBDII reader and since then have driven like 1500-2000 miles and it has not come back on. After reading Keithta issue's, I am hesitant to move forward with an ecu flash as I am scared it may come back and won't be fixed under warranty. Once you clear the CEL from your car via a reader, can the dealer see the history? I wanna bring it into the dealer to have it checked out if they can see previous CEL codes.

I am familiar with the code, but I am trying to reproduce the code so I can show it to the dealer.

I have read Keitha's post and now that just got me worried. I really want to flash my ecu but worried if it come back later, they won't warranty the issue.

Even if your CEL has cleared, the error code should still be in the memory. Take it to your dealer and have them evaluate it.

Oops...I just read you used a OBD scanner to clear the codes. The history is gone then. The only other thing to do is to take it in, and have them look over the car. Sometimes a error code will pop up that doesn't trigger a CEL. Have them look to see if there are any, and also tell them to document the code you cleared.

This way, in the future, you will be able to tell PCNA that you reported the problem prior to modifying the ECU.

actually most handheld scanners will not completely erase the CEL history. Only a PIWIS can do that - or I should say the PIWIS can find the CEL history of a car that has been erased with something other than a PIWIS

In that case...I stand by my recommendation. Go to your dealer and document the code.
