Thoughts on purchase price?

I am in the process of negotiating a price on a prisitine one owner 07 911 Turbo. Pretty loaded, MSRP at $150k, and the seller is looking at accepting a price of 86.5. Clean carfax, clear bra, immaculate. It is a tip car, with sportchrono, full leather, sport seats, pccbs. etc. Any thoughts?
Thanks,

Miles? That would be a big factor. Did you call your local Porsche dealer and have them run the VIN to check for service/warranty work? PPI critical here -- especially have them check the PCCB's! You really want a tip -- be sure about that too? At first blush, and without all the details, $86.5 seems fair especially given the PCCBs. Check the following post w/ '07 Manheim prices:

I just picked up 2007 turbo with 7000 miles and MSRP was 158k PCCB's, yellow piping, chrono, full leather, sport seats and 6 speed car is loaded. Also came with set of 20" Champion wheels and techart exhaust system. Even got all original parts as well. Paid 95k so think you got good deal depending on miles.

Boy, I apologize about not posting the miles... doh. Just a hair over 8k. Went through a prepurchase inspection with flying colors including the pccbs. Could do CPO, but the dealer recommended a third party warrantee, as he said much of the Porsche CPO is spent on replacing the tires, which this car has no need for. I actually do want a tip, after years of driving MTs I am ready for a break. I am still negotiating the price. It started at 92, I offered 85. He countered 90, and I went 86.5, so we are getting closer. I am no rush, as I have a 335xi that goes back on lease in 5 months, so I can be patient. I turned in my 07 M Coupe last October, and have been jonesing for a sporty ride. I have had turbo lust since I was about 12, and 22 years of smoldering desire needs to be rewarded :P

Thanks man, I'll keep everyone posted on the negotiations. I really don't want to go above the 86.5, so I may end up waiting another few months. The car is meteor grey metallic which I love, and looks good with the black interior with grey deviated stitching. It really is stunning.

That price is fair...I paid about the same for mine just a week ago...Only difference was mine was a cpo....The dealer also threw in a tire warranty for $1000 that will cover the wheels and tires for 5 years....If I get a nail in the tire, they replace the tire free of charge as long as there is 2/32's of tire tread with unlimited claims...Also it covers the rims from cracks and bends and also will cover aftermarket wheels and tires...

Looked around for a year. That is a decent price for an '07 Tip/sport chrono, <10k miles, great shape, with PCCBs.

You could find one CPO or buy an aftermarket warranty from a dealer for about $2k more, but you'll have to be patient. If you love the car and PPI is fine, sans over-revs, you should GFI -go for it!

Thanks for all the replies fellas, really helpful. One thing of note, it has the sport seats, which felt a tad tight in the shoulders, and I was wondering if anyone else that is broad in the shoulders had any difficulty. I havent played much with the adjustment of the seat, so hopefully it will widen some more.

It's a good price. Remember that Porsche only sold about 500-600 turbo coupes in North America every year. It's really not that many. If you feel you found it, go buy it!

This is the end of 2009 sales report from PNA (I think it includes Canada).

321 turbo coupes sold in 2009 and 668 in 2008. If you are looking for a car with a 6 speed transmission (divide those numbers by half), LSD (another half) and a specific color combo (keep dividing), you may wait for quite some time.
