Pulled the trigger!
First thing I'd do is tell the dealer to take his decal off the rear bumper RIGHT NOW! Doesn't add anything to the look of an otherwise beautiful car.
As to options you got the important one - sports chrono. Everything else is superfluous. I know because I got a lot crap put on my car. I'm not sure I've ever noticed the leather seat backs, headrest emblem, leather dome light cover, etc. Things that are more important such as wheels, exhaust and suspension upgrades can always be added as the budget allows.
Take the time to learn your car and enjoy it with safety and good health.
Above all read the owners manual.

Nice looking car! I agree, I would get them to take that crap off your rear bumper cover, or get a blow dryer when you get home and then peel and wax! I cannot believe they actually stuck that sh%^t on there?

How am I supposed to sleep tonight? The car is being delivered tomorrow morning. Fedex came today to drop off the AWE exhaust I bought off a fellow 6speeder but no-one was here to receive it, so it'll also come tomorrow. Oooooooh the anticipation.
Marshall Goldman is right down the street from my office and they have an amazing car collection! Congrats on a beautiful Turbo and gota love the Black! Let the mods begin!!

You don't know what anticipation is! I had my Techart steering wheel, GT3RS wheels, Cargraphic exhaust, Porsche umbrella, floor mats, and key fob with flashlight six months before the car arrived. Had all that crap in my closet so that every time I went in there I got aroused! It was pure torture I tell you.
Just take two aspirin and call me in the morning

yeah that sounds like torture. Looks like my exhaust and car should arrive at the same time.
yeah they seem to get some really nice cars. Black was the only choice for me after I saw one at a dealership.
Christmas morning for adults ... gotta love it. Congrats again.
I just got mine registered yesterday after driving it back up the US coast over the easter weekend - what a drive! (Inspections were a breeze by the way).

Hey Bogg, did your toy come yet?
Experience was incredibel actually. California / Oregon Coast was a drive I had ALWAYS wanted to do - what better vehicle to do it in???
The RIV Federal inspection must be done at a Canadian Tire store (they have the exclusive contract and the $205 you must pay the RIV covers the cost of this inspection). It took all of 5 minutes and I had to gently remind the tech that the daytime running lights he was looking for were in fact up front under the bumper and not the side marker lights that he was looking at - lol. Didn't even look for the dual language air bag warning stickers or child safety restraints (which are there but under the carpet).
I would love to be posting some pics - especially since the mod process has begun (stopped and bought a silver hood crest in Fremont, as well as into Sharkwerks to meet Alex and get the EVOMS flash, added a crested and stitched armrest, silver sport gas tank cap, tonight the all red tail lights will go on) - but I unfortunately lack the technical know-how to put pictures up on the web! Will have to figure that out.
I may post a more detailed report on the car importing process under the Canadian section. Probably very topical - especially with the dollar trading over par currently!

Thanks guys.
Didn't sleep too badly after all, although my teething 14 month old daughter was restless every couple of hours. Beautiful sunny day which was perfect for getting the car. I'll post some pics later, I've already kept patients waiting because I was drooling over the car so much this morning.
I wasn't sure what the child restraint part was that I need but I'll just see what Canuck Tire has to say when I take it in.

Awesome!!!
(just to clarify, my understanding is that the child restraints come from the factory from Porsche but underneath the rear carpeting. Technically for Canadian Spec they want the carpet cut so that the loop can stick out or something like that. I thought I would just try it and didn't do anything. I perhaps got lucky with the guy that did my inspection not even really looking, though its a quick fix if you get a stickler for details)

That was for the 2008 and 2009 model. What year was yours again? On the 2007 I thought someone posted that it just needs some 8 dollar adaptor part. Oh and congrats on what sounds like an amazing trip in your new wheels. I've dreamed of driving up that coastline too, perhaps in the future.
