I've just got my kit in, however it turn out with out the modules to my surprise , the sales person said that my car has the new software or module sense its a late production model of 2008 (based on my vin#), i shouldn't be needing the modules. if so, what is the next step?
Salam Khalil,

I got mine done a few months ago without swapping any pins or rewiring, it worked fine for a few weeks, then the flickering of the rear lights started then they stopped working at all.

I checked with the local garages here in Dubai, and I found only 1 garage who has successfully done this swap before. My 2009 997 turbo has a wire board/circuit in the front (under the hood, remove the lining, then it will be on the left side) he did some rewiring not sure what exactly, and Boom everything works perfectly.

You can PM and I can send you their contact and you can check with them.

Note: I did the front LED fog lights too, and rear bumper replaced to fit OEM rear LED's. My car is a 2009 and already had the upgraded control units to accept LED.

Good luck!

I understand that 09+ Turbo's dont require the front control module to be upgraded but i am unable to figure out its location. Is it in the luggage compartment or under the seat?

also does anyone have photographs of the pin swap on these modules?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Sheryl

Hey Sheryl,

The control unit is in the front compartment however you must remove the lining and you will find the control unit on the left hand side.

Haha I hope so to, I haven't actually got to see the pins. I did a lot of research but couldn't find anything on the 2009 models.

Let me know if you do find anything

In all, this whole thing cost me about $3000 in parts, painting, labor, etc.

Bumper for those with parking sensors was about $1450.
For a bumper without parking sensors, it's about $100 less.
Taillights were $400 each.
Exhaust surrounds were $82 each
Front and rear control modules were about $350 each
Bumper support bracket was about $100
So I guess $3,000 in parts only.
Plus painting and labor, right?
I thought $3,000 for all

It is Cobalt Blue. I paid about $4500 for the whole thing when everything was all done.

So theres no way to do this by just buying the lights?

It's pretty obvious if you look closely - the lights are different shape because the bumpers changed. If you want the LED lights and don't want the expense of changing the bumper, buy aftermarket replacement lights - lots of options for that - Dectane and ROTTEC are two.

Yeah, I didn't want those because I honestly don't think they look as good.

This thread helped lots of people. Me included.

I bought a complete used bumper in ebay for 550€ shipped. (Seller was Techart, they usually have lots of oem bumpers)
New led tail lights and FVD controllers were 1388€ shipped
New 997.2 bumper bracket was 30€

The FVD controllers are a bit expensive but it's plug and play and reversible.
There are other controllers that are cheaper but you need to cut existing wires. (Didn't knew about this option at the time)

997.2TT exhaust tips were 600€
It needs new exhaust or modify the existing exhaust for the new tips. I went with a Europipe special made for new bumper and exhaust tips.
