Spark Plug Change

Hey guys I'm going to tackle this project this weekend...I was told to buy these Ngk plugs...The part number is: BKR7EIX and stock number is 2667. Is this what everyone else is running or does anyone have a better suggestion? I know its going to be a pia to do, but I'm up for the challenge!

Run the Denso IK22 plugs. 1 step colder and better for higher boost and hp. That is what I run in all my cars we do.

Does this complement the ECU software programing?

I agree with Dan.. Ik22 should be an 8 heat range.. if your flashed at minimum you should run an 8.. Stock sure you can run a 7..

If you haven't done it before, there is a DIY guide from eclou (Gene) here:

Good luck!

Lol! Thanks...I saw it already but I'm still down to suffer! Something about the love/hate relationship of working on cars

Iridium power. Double check the gap and torque seat

I also run colder Denso Platinum plugs. The car idles and runs smoother.

Are the Denso's a direct replacement of stock plugs or do they need to be closed a little?

The IK22 you dont need to gap, just put them in as they are ready to go. These do compliment the ECU flash and generally cars with increased boost and HP need the colder plugs to provide a better spark and not cause misfire.

I would suggest verifying the gap on them as I have seen them on 20 occasions come out of the package all different gaps.. You must use a WIRE TYPE feeler gauge not the cheap tool that goes on your key chain or you will break the plug.. I just pulled a set of IKH24 same plugs basically out of a car and you could see by eye the gaps were way different.. if you can see it by eye its off A LOT..
