We have begun the process of getting our 997.1TT ready for the Texas mile in October. Due to the unfortunate trailer accident we had during our summer tour, the roof of the 997 was damaged. Instead of fixing it, we decided to skin it and install a GT2 "sunroof delete" instead. Since we had problems with sunroofs in the past on "Jowtwint's" 996TT at the mile at high speeds, we decided that this is the safest route.

Since we had to cut the original roof out, it was the perfect time to integrate a complete roll cage into the car. We are going to weld in a full cage tight to the roof line so we can hide it under the headliner. We want the cage to be 100% safe but unobtrusive. I will update this thread with photos as we make more progress.

<O</OOther things that we are going to tackle are aerodynamic changes to the car to improve stability at speeds in excess of 240 + MPH. Even though we are shooting for 250 MPH, we will be satisfied with safe passes at any speed so we can collect data while testing the limits of our 4.0L engine. More details to follow.

It seems that for 250mph u need like 1500whp if u consider that the cars that have done 250 (lambo and ford gt) have that much or more....

 

Considering that we have already run 231 MPH with 920 WHP up against the rev limiter for the last 150 feet without any aero changes, I think we should hit 240 + with this one The power of this engine is more than 300 WHP beyond that last car with much better TQ. Do you have any experience running a P car at these speeds or are you just quessing?
