Cel - p0021

Fellas, today I blew the CEL light P0021- cleared it with my obd code reader and it has continued to pop up 3 more times today over the course of a 25 miles around town. Im dropping it off at my tech monday so he can take a peek. Any clues?

This what happened to me ,hopefully you have a mod friendly dealer if your still on warranty if not i was told it's about 10k bill.It could just be a cam sensor there are 2 of them but if it keeps coming back after they replace those https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...yone-else.html

Yes, 10k plus. Ask the dealer to grandfather you on with pcna if you're out of warranty.

warranty till 10-17-2013. Going to my tech monday morning for a better look. If the motors getting opened my the dealer or my local tech- id like to know the options for a motor build and getting internals addressed as well as the camshaft that needs to be replaced.

Hope your relationship is very good with your dealer. A 775 kit may not be very obvious at first glance, but if the motor comes out, all bets are off.

I had the same cel. They dropped the motor (I think) and replaced sensors and an actuator but didn't actually change the cam. That was in June and so far so good, so they didn't have to open the engine. It was covered under warranty but I think just this fix alone was at least 2k based on the number of hours involved. Thank god for cpo warranty...

Hey Bogg- how many miles were on your car? Im approaching 30k , and 15k of the miles had a 700 kit on it... Its going to my tech tomorrow afternoon before it goes to the local P-car dealer. My tech who installed my kit is also very friendly with the P-car dealer out here. Should they warranty it despite whatever mods I have on the car

Know issue on the early 997.1 builds 07-08 not seen much on 09 builds.
Had the same issue and my mod friendly dealer covered it under warranty.

CEL came back on around 22K miles, first time at around 14K miles and I reset it.
Spoke to Todd.K the first time it occurred and he advised me to take it to the
dealer next time the code showed up and told me about the cam issue.

So basically you drove it for 8k after the reset and no issues? What happened the second time? Pardon the newbie questioning

Approx 15k miles iirc. As far as I know it isn't affected by modding, it's a design flaw and I wouldn't be surprised if they fixed it either for free or for cheap.
