Making more HP!!!
Making more HP!!!
I just recently purchased a 2008 997 Turbo, I am looking to make between 700-800 Hp, What will the best and most economical way to do this be??
Any help is appreciated, I know there are tons of shops that claim these big numbers, but I want proven HP that will be reliable. I have been leaning towards EVO, Any help
Thanks

Your question suggests that you want to compare 2 vendors' dyno numbers. A dyno is a tuning device. I'm guessing you already know this, but it's not a fair comparison to compare dyno results from different days, conditions, machines, etc. Any tuner can set up a dyno or chose a type of dyno to best project their engine's output. While it may give you a ballpark figure of where you want to be, some basic questions you should be asking the tuner are:
1. What is your trap speed?
2. What is your 60-130?
3. What type of boost, AFR, timing are you running on your setup?
4. What type of fuel were you running in the above listed scenarios?

Ok, thanks for the info, but I am more after which tuner is the best bang for the buck, I want solid real hp numbers and know that different types of dyno software give different numbers etc etc, so which tuners are the best?
Thanks
Thanks
Start with EVO, Protomotive, Switzer. Call them, tell them what your goals are and your price point. Make your own educated decision based on this and what's been written extensively on this forum. You'll likely get several responses on this thread, with each member giving you a different answer/opinion (emphasis on the latter). GL
If you are looking for cheap options they dont exist TBH.
If you want reliable solid power then you have to spend the money unfortunately.
You cant go and buy a Porsche and then expect an 800bhp conversion to cost you $5000.
Regardless of bang-for-the-buck factor, you will have a much nice ride if you answer BBYWU's list and take it from there.
For example, Fuel quality is hugely important to power-to-$ ratio since it will cost you much, much, more to make huge number on pump gas. Regardless of tuner.
Best of luck!

Call TPC Racing, AWE-Tuning, EVO, Protomotive and Switzer and start asking questions. Since you are starting fresh with the car, determine what exactly you want and I am sure one them will be able to accommodate you.

Lamboman.....gimme a call any time. I'd be happy to discuss different options with you.
Basically, if you're looking for easy bolt-on 700-800 CRANK HP....then there's a few easy options out there for you. If you want that power at the wheels, that requires a little more modification.
I just installed the package below on an '08 Turbo Cab, Tipronic, and we dyno'ed it at 610hp at the wheels this morning on pump gas. (http://www.championmotorsport.com/pr...-997t-1-pk.htm) It's the smaller of our two VTG packages, or 65mm turbos. We also have a 68mm turbo that will take you up to around 675 at the wheels (~840 crank) on a stock motor, and about 800 or so at the wheels (~1000 crank) on a built motor. Beyond that you'll need to explore non-VTG based options out there. Switzer and Proto would be the top two.
One thing that we do which is unlike many other tuners however is offer a true warranty that backs your Porsche CPO. You can find out some more about that here:

Feel free to give me a call anytime if you have any questions.
