Not entirely true, as I mentioned earlier I had the dealer run a test, they swapped my 997.1 Multi-f with a 997.2(2011) and 991 multifunction wheel. On both wheels the horn worked, no airbag error messages, multifunction buttons illuminated, only thing that did not work were the multifunction buttons. PIWIS showed the multifunction option was running, we even tried disabling and renabling it and still would not work. Delaer things I need to upgrade my steering wheel controller module.

Paddles and alcantara. It's a factory Porsche wheel. I got mine from Suncoast. They might have 1 in stock normally and if not the order from Germany is a few weeks. I like it alot.

Looks great congrats.

Most of the standard color TechArt Steering Wheels we try to keep in stock, any type of custom finish/stitch/carbon/etc is about 2 weeks away... Give us a call! 888-920-1766

You have pm.........

Iv been searching for ages trying to figure out the best approach to getting my 997.1 triangular MF/tip steering wheel replaced with 997.2/991 paddle wheel. Or even better yet, one from TechArt with both paddles and MF.

I eventually stumbled upon this thread where skandalis447 says hes re-wired the innards of a 997.2 wheel to suite a 997.1 control box, however the form wouldn't let me pm him.

If be greatfull for any information anyone has on trying to get a 997.2/991 wheel with paddles, or better yet, the techart 997.2 paddle+MF wheel working on a 997.1 tip (2007).

Either by purchasing the techart wheel and a controlbox for 997.2 (would tip and MF work though?) or by re-wiring a 997.2/991/techart wheel to suite a 997.1 tip control box.

Im pretty handy with the soldering iron, so any pictures from skandalis447 on how the re-wiring of the wheel was done, schematics, or anything really would be GREATLY appreciated. Planning to make this my winter project, almost that time again to tuck her in for winter storage =(

FINALLY Porsche makes a badass steering wheel. Glad to hear this is an easy install. And also note that it is smaller in diameter than a .1 wheel. How many years have Porsches had lousy wheels?!

well...its more easy to install pdk steering column ecu than to modify pdk wheel for tip use...you need to install tip switch internals into pdk wheel and 2 microswitches for up down gearing...its not easy...i did it once and wont doit again...since then i install pdk steering column ecu...

Thanks for that skandalis, would you happen to have any idea if the combination 997.2 ECU with a Techart paddle/MF wheel would work?

Im guessing (note: guessing) that porsche only manufactures one ECU for the 997.2, and since the car is available with either MF, or paddles (porsche wheels dont have the MF/paddle combo). There should be seperate pins for the functions. Since my car already has MF activated, im unsure if im only required to enable PDK, or if since its a new ECU i also need to enable "pdk mf" ?

there is a coding option regarding mf...so you enable or disable it via piwis...please note that if you in tip or pdk cars have mf wheel and replace it with non mf...it wont work for gear changes until you disable mf with piwis...

Then i should be able to purchase a techart 997.2 MF/Paddle wheel.
Purchase a 997.2 electronics unit and via piwis make sure that MF and PDK are enabled. Hope this works

Oh.. also need to a find a PC willing to do this, asked all 3 in the area and none wanted to

I too did a swap at the dealer with a 2011 wheel and a 2012 991 wheel, horn worked no errors, just no MF conrol.
