Looking at the chart, its pretty clear to me that the pulls were not started at the same RPM. We'd need a much more controlled test pulling same gear same RPM to be able to tell the difference in spool. Either way, the alphas appear to spool very similar to the vtgs, which is the experience of the big tuner shops as well. Clearly this thing is going to make some power. Now where are the 60-130 times ;-)

Not perfect, but a better comparison...very nice spool up for my current configuration.

So basically looks like by going to 3.8 you're spooling alphas as fast as small vtgs on the 3.6. However you cut that, it's impressive spool for turbos that will make north of 1000whp.

I'd wager that your alphas will outspool my 67vtgs even.

Dave, how does it "feel" when driving the current setup around 3-4k vs your old 63.5s? Do you find that you have to compensate for any lag or does the boost response correlate with the graph? And when are you gonna show us some pbox numbers?????

This set-up definitely preserves the fun factor of vtgs. Not sure how they would match up to the 67s in terms of spooling. It's been so long since I had the 63.5 vtgs but there's no lag to speak of plus they just want to keep pulling. I'll have to drive down to the Mexican Hwy to get some times. I'm curious myself.

Dave again thanks very much for sharing all the information (and your knowledge/experience). For Vbox times, maybe wait until to you've jacked up the boost to full level and knock one out of the park?

I expect the very best from this car but it's not tuned at max possible boost yet right? That is a major determinant of power and times right?

I'm guessing you will run a 3.9-4.0 60-130

There are probably things that can still be tweeked like timing and fuel but overall everything feels very solid right now. I want to run safe too. Can't afford another rebuild. The car is really perfect. Grandma could drive this around town. When Vbox season (fall) arrives, I'll take a little trip and get in some runs.

You are right Can, just crank up the boost and let her rip. I think 2 bar is obtainable without any problems.

I think you will be ok keitha ran a 4.1 in warm Miami weather on his first night taking his car out and you have a very similar build from protomotive. A little cooler weather and maybe better tires and your good.

Dyno tuning is next week for my car. I leave to Ohio Friday and should be at Switzer Monday morning. I'll take plenty of pics, hoping my car is done then.

Yep protomotive. To make good use of them you really have to have fenderwell intakes or evoms/champion turbo intake pipes.
