3.8L Build Started
Update
After a few hundred miles, so far, the result has simply been amazing and far exceeded my expectations. I'm really in love with this car now. I'm seeing same load values (~165, 3500 rpm) at 0.9 bar at partial throttle than I did at 1.1 bar at WOT with upgraded vtgs. I can't imagine how viciously fast this is going to feel once I nail it. This car is VERY SOLID, VERY STRONG. The GT2 slave with triple disk engages perfectly but has a triple disk feel. You can feel the all three disks engaging whereas with the hydraulic assist, you couldn't. It has a truly super sports car feel and is completely driveable. The exhaust is perfect too. Essentially zero backpressure but on the quite side so it doesn't attract attention, which is exactly what I wanted. It's a sleeper but has a feeling that it can blow anything off the road, at will. No fault codes, no weird engine noises, no smoke on start-up, nothing but pure pleasure. The constant swooshing sounds of the BOVs is heavenly. I wouldn't trade this thing for anything.

Ahh the sweet sound of success. Sounds like a "super car daily driver beast" to me. Good for you Dave; I expected no less from the careful research you've done.
Congrats, enjoy, and drive safely!

Congrats Dave and very happy to read your news.
I guess I see a little what do you mean, my tune is not optimized yet and while it is a lower level I feel the same kind of sensations now, Alpha turbos really open another dimension...
The words are right: the car feels very SOLID and STRONG, and more than the times can explain.
Bests,
P.
Thanks guys! Much appreciated. I think the tune can be optimized since I'm running on the same 3.6 flash that was done on the dyno. I plan to hit up TK again in due time.
No, I actually don't want a really aggressive exhaust. I like the EP1, but I feel like aftermarket exhaust should be an easy 50 lb. savings and I hate to not realize that savings on my TT, which is why I hesitate with Europipe. If the Protomotive exhaust flows as well or better, sounds good without being obnoxious, and saves some weight, that is exactly what I'm looking for. Being made in the US of A is a major plus for me as well.

awesome build.
i am giong the same route in about a month. i was very hesistant on going with 3076's due to lag.
are you saying that for a DD the car still pulls like a freight train down low ?
I am doing a 3076 on e85 set up but keeping it a 3.6
