Which car to buy?

Need advice. I am trying to choose between a '12 997 based 911GTS and an '07/'08 turbo. This'll be a daily driver for 7 months per year, all two lane or freeway. Manual only. I appreciate the help, even if I'm directed to a more appropriate forum. Thanks.

Agreed! u need to drive both. But - I'm biased - I use my 2009 6 speed tt every day - 365 days/year - including kids sporting events. I do have a hideous thule box which makes it on the roof now and then! That being said - its outstanding and you will not go wrong with the 07/08 TT. I'm in and out of NYC daily - and even in traffic I love the 6 speed.

Snow tires going on in about a month! oh yeah!

You will really enjoy the TT, but certainly do drive both first.

I will drive the GTS this Friday. Haven't lined up a turbo yet. I live about 4 hours from both Chicago and Detroit, so it's taking some planning. I won't be doing any track time, so it's which car will be the most fun on a daily basis.

Snows on at Thanksgiving.
I will warn you. I drove a 991S before getting my turbo. Once you get on the boost and even you the OVER boost, you aren't going to be that excited by a GTS. Although the GTS is definitely the best iteration and highest value 997 made. (not including GTs, etc. of course)

My summer DD for the past 16 years has been a hot rod '89 930--cams, twin plugs and so on, so I do know boost. However, I'm anxious to see what it's like to have 400plus bhp without the "one one thousand two one thousand" before the boost smacks you in the back.

A month ago I went to Jacksonville FL to test drive a 2010GTS and 2008 997tt. I drove the tt first and was blown away, next I drove the GTS and was not so blown away. As others have said drive them both, if you are addicted to power....You will do like I did and get the tt without hesitation.

I never drove a GTS but I'm guessing that it would feel like the TT until you hit the boost rpm. Once you experience the boost, there is no turning back

The last sentence in the review of the new 991tt explains it perfectly. My neck still hurts
