SPEC clutch for 997TT?
^its not so much about the power level, its about application.
my car came with a sachs 2.5..
if i launched my car on a sachs how i do the ERP, it would be toast in a week.
the amount of slip these clutches can take is simply not possible with a single disc organic/kevlar clutch like the sachs. (mine was practically toast when we took it out)
the triple carbon clutch is designed to be beat on, the more you slip it, the better it grips.
in fact, to "resurface" the clutches, one has to do a series of FIVE hard launches in 2nd gear just to get the clutches to be perfectly smooth (this takes away judder).
AH-MAZING clutch .
a single disc clutch can not be launched like a triple disc. but for the record, sachs 2.5 is AWESOME for holding power.
so to recap, if you want a clutch that holds power, a sachs 2.5 is plentiful,
if you want a clutch that will let you luanch the car just as hard as a pdk launches, triple disc carbon all the way.

But it is about the power level to a certain extent. I think the Sachs is only rated to hold like 600 ft/lbs. Well if my car has 1050whp, it damn sure has more torque that that. So right off the bat, the Sachs is out. But it if you have say.......500whp, it would be more in it's element. Probably will still get destroyed, but it's more of a close match. If that makes sense
You all have very good points and advice. I would like to eventually see my car around 800HP. I think I should just invest in the Carbon clutch with steel flywheel as it appears to be bullet proof.
If "Steve K NY" is running it and launching from 2nd at ever light, it would last 100 years for me.
guess I'm stuck in between both. I better go with the more holding power.
To be perfectly frank, I have no idea why you would buy anything other than the Sachs upgraded 764 pressure plate with any number of OEM discs. It is literally the de facto selection between the OEM setup and the triple disc clutches used by the big boys.
Ive just requested a refund of the Spec clutch before they ship it so I can get the Sachs 2+ Clutch kit. Hopefully it comes through. If not Ill be getting the Spec clutch. Just wanted to see if anyone had experience with it.
