Got a problem with a sponsor!!!!!
Hi guys just need some advice please.
I purchased some items from a well known sponsor last year.
In the mean time 1 of the 2 parts I purchased failed.
So I contacted the company and was very polite and in return the company sent me a replacement of the part that failed and also a new version of the other part that did not fail which I thought was very kind.
Unfortunately the new replacement of the part which did not fail, failed.
Both times if I carried on driving the vehicle without luckily checking the parts that failed could have eventually destroyed my engine.
So I contacted the company and told them you are very nice guys but your products are not so nice the quality is not great so I would like a refund as I do not have any faith in running these items on my car anymore and I'm not going to keep paying to remove and fit them.
They were not happy but they told me to send them back to the states and they will check them and if they are as described then I will receive a full refund including the shipping costs!
Unfortunately it has been around a month and still no money has appeared in my account even though they did agree to pay me my money back.
What would you do?
I do not want to name and shame them but it's getting to the point where I am losing my patients!

I have sent them the parts and they owe me close to $1500.
In re-reading your post..
How did you pay for the parts? (Credit Card).. if you made this transaction
within a 90 day period.. check with your credit card.. you can dispute the charge.
If you used.. American Express Platinum etc.. they usually side with the consumer
not the retailer.
If you can prove that you shipped all parts back to the merchant via FedEx/UPS.. etc.
that will help in your charge back. This will all be needed to regain your $1500.
As far as the agreement that they would credit you the $1500. was that written?
or verbal?.. if its verbal.. its he said/she said.... written?.. you have proof.
**** Look at the original date of purchase from the invoice you recieved or your
credit card statement and call your credit card company to see whether you still
have time to disput the charge.
I hope this was helpfull.

I do have it written in an Email.
PM the board moderators. In the past I know they have been instrumental in helping members get disputes resolved.
If that doesn't work I'm sure they will provide you with sound advice. While this forum isn't designed for this specific purpose fact is other members have been successful raising concerns this way, which ultimately resulted in action being taken. Should it have to come to this? No, but unfortunately there is no other way.
Good luck!

Call your credit card company at once.. they can look at the transaction date
and tell you whether you can dispute the charge.
Reason why you are disputing the charge: "recieved defective parts" and you
recieved an agreement from the merchant to credit the amount. (e-mail you stated you had). You also have return all parts to the merchant with proof of reciept. (if you have).
You shouldnt have a problem in re-gaining your $1500. if you follow these steps with
the information you provided to me.

It's just a shame that it has to be this way.

NAME THE SPONSOR! You have an obligation to help other people not go thru the same thing as you did. It's not about shaming them publicly, its about having them improve their products and helping your fellow P-car owners avoid KNOWN issues
Exactly! If they show un-business-like conduct.. why would you shelter them?
I have managed to get in contact with them today and they have promised me that they have sent the money and will scan the receipt from the bank and mail it to me and also go and find out what the hell is going on.
I shall not name them as I could be acting out of being paranoid and it would be unfair of me to cause problems for no good reason if they come through in the end.
I will keep you all posted.
I just wanted some advice on what other options I have available to me if they don't come through and of course I would let you all know who they are if it came to this point.

Threads that out the sponsor often take a life on their own, leaving the sponsor no incentive to help resolve the issue, and often we only get one side of the story before others come to the feeding frenzy. When a member reports a problem with a transaction or a product with a sponsor, we encourage them to try and do so off the forum, or to go through a moderator. When you out a sponsor before your problem is resolved, the sponsor has no reason to help resolve the issue, and often you only hear the story from one side. The problem is often unsettled. If Nick would like help resolving any issues, I'd be happy to do what I can, otherwise taking the issue off line first and making every attempt to resolve this without using internet leverage tends to lead to a resolution amicably.
