3.8 built ready
Ok, light pulley bolted with 2 pins instead of one.
I did a track day yesterday without any issue.
The car runs a little better since the pulley, I would say a 0,1/0,2' consistent gain at 100-200kph with pumpgas and same boost (1,35Bar), but it is perhap's the engine internals which are getting more free 3500km (2000miles) after the rebuilt...
Ps: I made a search and found a company wich produces damper pulleys, essentially for US engines but they can build "onspecs" pulleys, why not if mine does not hold...

I bolted a pulley from Protomotive, very close product than Evom's. (anodized aluminium, smaller belt, more covering crank vs stock...)
I would say I tried at least a dozen of tunes and improvements with Todd, plus fueling files adaptations when changing injectors to 80lbs, to 100lbs...
He's pretty smart so when I need a part he can provide I buy it by him.

Hi guys,
I bolted last week a pair of MVR44 and my boost regulation issue is fixed.
Since I bolted my Protomotive 3' exhaust and the 3,8 kit the Alphas internal waste gates were too small and I had no other solution than presetting a low boost basis to avoid overboosting at rpms.
The consequence was a poor spool and a biased boost regulation.
After a few tests (springs) the spool is now very nice, the engine far more responsive at low/mid range and the boost well regulated.
I ran @1,25Bar and by 9°C AT a few 100-200kph between 5,0' and 5,2' alone in the car, my best times ever. (98 europumpgas)
I will try soon a bit more boost (1,35Bar) and probably an E85 proto tune (my IDC is <65% for now) but the car is already truly very fast as a street car...
Bests,
P.

Me too,i set my HKS evc5 to 15psi and saw 17psi pic boost.it seems i need to go with external WGs as you did
but did you try before ext WGs to set the HKS offset?Usually it is set to 100%,maybe if we reduce it to 90% then pic boost=set boost. Thanks,
Ali
Little news,
In order to fix the P0021 default I bolted the Protomotive pinned cams, and some bigger injectors as my 1100ccs were @100% IDC about 1,4Bar with E85.
For now I don't know the result as the gearbox is still open: the second gear became difficult to shift, we will swap the mainshaft and the 1rst+2nd gear train + all the bearings.
I might run the car next week.
One thing I learnt: until 700hp/900Nm all is reliable, this is the "reason's choice"...
Above those numbers this is another league: far more fun, really strong, even frightening, but also another league with the money spent, you have to be ready to rebuild your engine, pin your cams, double pin your (light) undertrain pulley, rebuild your gearbox... Your car becomes a "race car" with all the attentions a race car needs.
I won't go back now I tasted it, it is a hard drug, but not an easy way!
Rgrds, P.
PS: last times with E70 (mix to lower IDC) @1,5Bar and 20°C AT : 100-200 in 4,7'/ 60-130 in 5,4'/ 100-250 in 8,5' and you need to warm the Michelin PSS to avoid spinning in 3rd gear (even by 25°C AT) ...

Yes pretty good times vs the boost (the highest boost seen is 1.54Bar on both the logs and the HKS).
I won't exceed this target boost (1.52Bar) as I want a true reliability (!).
The 1680s will allow me to run straight E85 (no mix) with a good IDC and the cams might help a bit the power, I expect times like 100-200 in 4.5' and 60-130 in 5.2-5,3'...
Thxs Asher, of course there are far stronger beasts here but I really appreciate mine with this setup!
Following your thread I see yours is turning to a truly fast machine as well!
I was hesitating with the CMS68 way and finally went to Garett's, so I'm impatient seeing your results with the right injectors,
. (80 or 100lbs?)

If I could make use of the power I would have considered the alpha/garrett solution also. Speed limit here is 100km/hr

The CMS68s were a "reasonable" compromise as the usable powerband is superb and they offer decent acceleration and punch in the rpm ranges where I spend 99% of my time.
I will use Cobb/ID 1000cc injectors, which are more than enough for pump/racegas and would be plenty for e85. Sure, you could use even bigger injectors for e85 but it's not here yet and I understand there are idle issues or part throttle issues if you go too big for just pumpgas.
