3.8 built ready
Hi guys,
I bolted last week a pair of MVR44 and my boost regulation issue is fixed.
Since I bolted my Protomotive 3' exhaust and the 3,8 kit the Alphas internal waste gates were too small and I had no other solution than presetting a low boost basis to avoid overboosting at rpms.
The consequence was a poor spool and a biased boost regulation.
After a few tests (springs) the spool is now very nice, the engine far more responsive at low/mid range and the boost well regulated.
I ran @1,25Bar and by 9°C AT a few 100-200kph between 5,0' and 5,2' alone in the car, my best times ever. (98 europumpgas)
I will try soon a bit more boost (1,35Bar) and probably an E85 proto tune (my IDC is <65% for now) but the car is already truly very fast as a street car...
Bests,
P.

car is a ProEfi 3.8 liter with Tial alpha 3073s. 2 bar no problem.
Congrats, thats very fast for pumpgas and 1.25bar... you have a nice combo, i am sure 3.8 helped a lot down low... i think A3076+3.8 are more like A3071+3.6... your setup is best of both worlds... where do you hit 1bar and max boost ? i used to hit with my old 3.6/A3076 setup - 3900-4000 @1bar and 2-300 rpms later for max boost (1.55bar at that time)
congrats again! killer times, you should reach 4.x 100-200 on pump (no meth) at higher boost - pumpgas monster !

Hello Pascal!
I believe you will change turbos in near future...
Meanwhile i am sure that you can raise the pressure with pump fuel much more...
I have 3 setting for pump at my syvecs. 1.2 1.4 and 1.6
Believe me from 1.2 to 1.6 the difference is huge

Hi and thxs for your kind words Randy, Fadi, Ali, Rui and Nick!
My internal WG are not welded but I machined little parts to block them closed, that way my turbos are still stock.
I checked my logs, my engine reaches now 1.0Bar boost @3250rpm and the actual max boost 1,25Bar @3500rpm, I will see with higher boost (1,35) next week end.
5,0' is the best, average is 5,2/5,3' @1.25Bar, thoses new times are dued to the beginning of the accel, now the car accelerates hard before 100kph instead of after...
I believe I will stop with pumpgas @1,35/1,40Bar maxi, I don't want to take any risk. 100-200 might touch a glory 4,9'?...
But we will see how much boost my fueling system will allow until too high IDC with E85, I guess about 1,5Bar.
Again, I don't want a fragile setup, I want to be able to run long pulls without fear, and sincerely, the car is already very nice to drive.
My 4 wheels spin in 3rd by dry road (9°C AT) until the tyres are warm! (Michelin PSS)

PS: Nick, did you gave us some times with your new beast!?

Pascal i face serious sliiping tiptronic issues at 1.6 bar and pump. (At 1.8 and racing fuel i couldn even dyno the car)
I did with this tranny 4.3 sec 100-200 @1.4 bar and 4.2sec @ 1.6. (It is funny how much it slips especially at 1.6)
Emre kindly accepted to upgrade my transmission so i will post new times in a week time that i will have it back from Turkey.
I hope that with 1.6 i will make 3.7sec.
I plan to go till 2.0bar with racing fuel though...

You will be fine with Emre's tiptronic for sure. How much power did you dyno until slippage?
4,3/4,2' is already astonishing on pumpgas, let us know the following.
If I had it to do over again, that's what I would do. It would saved me
a thousand dollars! It is the exact same turbo and you need to address
exhaust manifold and add external WGs.
The 3073 spools like a small turbo but hits like a big boy! The 16 billets and
the alpha 28s ran out of steam up top. The 3073s pull HARD to 190 mph.
Admittedly, I have all custom plumbing with hard pipe to the intercoolers,
ported heads, 3.8 liter Ps and Cs, 74mm TB, big ic's, ProEfi / e85 etc....
so I'm maximizing there performance.
The car is an absolute monster and I'm not using monster turbos! It has
power everywhere. Turbo lag is imperceptible and even off boost, it's
strong!
Even in the first setting, 1 bar, my 0-60 is 3.3 seconds. I'm sub 3s in setting
3, 1.4 bar.

3s 100-200.

My best was 3.95 100-200 but I'm confident I can shave a tenth or two
off of that. Btw, my 3.95 was @ 2.0 bar on e85

Lasts,
My logs show my 1.25Bar were really about 1.28.
I ran today 1,35/40Bar boost, timing was holding very well but I won't go further with pumpgas.
The car is stronger, running more repetitive 5,0' at 100-200 but no glory 4,9' for now.
I tryed a 100-250kph: did 9,7' alone in the car. (13,5°C AT)
I don't dare WOT in 6th for now, stress in the engine components might be huge and it scares me! I let a lot of money in this engine!
I set the B mode of my EBC with this target and kept the "1,25" as A mode.
Sincerely I hope this power level reliable, I would say it is pretty enough for me for a street car.
I guess we are about 750 "EurocrankHP" and 950Nm, the engine is now 3000km and oil was changed at 2500km, I will take the car on my usual dyno (Superflow, as Megion) in a few hundreds more km.
