Finally upgrades almost ready!
Finally upgrades almost ready!
When I was looking for a 997, I already factored in doing the following mods and in my mind I can say this is the car I bought (after the upgrades). I wanted to build a OEM style car (not going to off OEM components and at least be as fast if not faster then what my last 996t build was that I never got to test out (k24/20g, meth etc, etc.)
After waiting 5 weeks for VTG cores (as I did not want to be down in the summer with my 911!) for the 67mm or 68 mm Proto set up, I just took Todds advice that He told me from day one and took his off the self 63.5mm. He promises that there should be hardly any differences in the two as the hot-side is the issue as you go larger compressor and flow more.
This is what I have going in as we speak with hopes the car would be ready next week:
1. Protomotives 63.5m clipped exhaust
2. Protomotives 80lbs injetors
3. Protomotives 5BAR regulator
4. Protomotives E85 and 94 pump gas tune
5. Speetech 3" X catless race exhaust (I have a separate thread for this work of art: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...al-3-tips.html)
6. ERP Triple clutch with LWFW
7. Numeric Shift cables
8. Do88se Turbo Inlet piping
This is the list of hardware mods the car currently has on it when I bought the car:
GT3 Throttle Body
IPD Competition Intake Plenum 82mm
EVOMS under drive pulleys
EVOMS diverter valves
BMC Air filter
Sprint Booster
SSK from Porsche
RSS front split control arms
H&R springs
GT2 Rear Sway bar
WEVO motor mounts
New rotors all around with Pagid 29 & 19 pads
I am hoping that I can get this thing down to at lease as quick as it was on STOCK TURBOS with Proto's MS109 tune (about 6.8-7.0) with the 63.5mm (and new mods) BUT ON 94 PUMP GAS and 5.8-6.2 on E85!
This is my link for my 60-130 times I have with each upgrade I have done thus far:
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ight-pipe.html
Excited to get her back and see it all come together as a nice well rounded package!
Thanks
Bobby Ali

Congrats that's going to be a solid build...how much power are you looking to get ....is there a reason that your going with a vtg.....I'm on the fence between a alpha or a vtg..I'm looking for the funnier beast to drive...500whp is not enough anymore....once again congrats can't wait for the review..

What alphas do you have what type of numbers are you pulling.....is it fun to drive on the street how reliable is it how many miles you have on kit..
Guys when I bought this car I really wanted to reproduce what I had in my 996. Being the car is so capable using mostly stock components (reminds me of the MK4 Supra's) I thought that the car would have the reliability of the stock car (fit finish consistency etc), but make some good power to surprise many that might think it has more intensive mods. This is exactly what my 996 did and many (ZR1 ,modded GTR's, Modded GT500's 685RWHP 11 5.0 711rwhp),did not believe me even after looking at the car (couldn't really see any mods) and saw the way it ran with just rewheeled turbos. The for mentioned cars were not just beat, but many cars in-between with just rewheeled K16 turbos (EPL BILLET 16 package). These cars are VERY efficient with their power! To think that the E85 will also take it to another level with stock based turbos (just re-wheeled) is even more impressive!
Again, I am hoping to go from a stock turbos pump gas 8.2 to 6.8 - 7.0sec on PUMP with this 63.5 set up and 5.8-6.2 on E85!
I will keep all up to date with the progress!
