help!!! car wont start. battery is dead. cant jump it!!
Guys
I'm sitting in front of my car. AAA is here. We can't get the car started. It won't crank, lights won't go on. I can't get the trunk open. What should I do?? Will push starting it do anything?

Also - in the fuse panel is a connector to open the hood. It pulls out and you can connect jumper cables to it. Negative to your body and 12v to the connector in the fuse panel. This will pop your hood.
I'm sure this was a few hrs ago and hopefully your all sorted out by now.
I have no idea what's going on with this thing. I have a bad feeling it's electrical... the nav system kept flickering on and off last night, but the car drove fine.
... this morning however, the battery was completely dead. The engine just cranks when we put a jump on it, but the fuel pumps aren't working...
When it rains it pours im stressing right now.. in the tow truck.

i could not get the trunk open with the method you guys suggested.
i ended up being able to open it by just keeping power into that fuse box outlet, and hitting the trunk button on the remote.
the motor cranked when putting a boost to the battery, but would not start. i cant hear the fuel pumps...
does anyone know where the fuel pump relay is ?
any advice ?
how screwed am i ?

Hope you get this all sorted out - electrical gremlins can be difficult to diagnose.
update.
charged the battery up, same problem. car isnt getting fuel.
there was no fuel pressure coming at the back.
we took apart the fuel system up front, and poured fuel into the surge tank. tried again, the car started, then turned off after a few seconds.
tested both pumps, and theyre both working. topped off the gas tank. tried again. car wont start.

thanks TW..
the car wont start now. battery is charged. durametric shows no faults. ECU is ok.
i wonder what caused the battery to completely die overnight.
dead battery and no fuel pressure. how are these two related ?
soo stumped.
mechanic thinks its the battery.. (Duralast purchased last year. 1000 amp)

If its completely discharged .. perhaps its the battery ...
In my experience (996TT), with a faulty battery, I had to let the jumper cable sit there for about 5-10 minutes before trying to start that car ...
Or perhaps it could have been your alternator ... that's why your battery ended up powering the car? Just throwing some things out there ...
