Thanks for the response. Looking at the photos, for part Part#: 997-618-159-07-M100 the cylinder is included. If so, do I swap the cylinders? Or should it include the 2 key cuts? I’m not understanding.

Ok, I see what you mean. Think of it this way…your key has specific grooves that provide an input to this component. The component reads and translates this physical pattern to an electrical signal/code that your car reads and accepts based on what is programmed in your car as the authorized key and the car starts. You do not need to get new keys.

The YouTube video below shows you how to eject your current key from the non working module.

my car is a high mileage driver and I DIY as much as I can. Going to make a video for the variocam solenoid this weekend and post it on YouTube. Working on these cars isn’t rocket science.
