How do you get the motor so clean? Mine has all that shipping cosmoline or what ever it is called on the bottom.

This motor probably has that crap on the bottom as well

Guys work hard to try and remove it but it is there for a reason and probably better to leave. I know some say it's for transport across the ocean only. But depending on your location and claimant it's still protects things. A really shiny motor get's dirty quick too.

Congrats on the new motor! Always makes me nervous when I see pictures of an engine with the intake ports on the heads exposed without anything covering them, especially when someone is turning wrenches on it. It's very easy to have dirt or loose bolts/nuts/washers or other debris fall into the intake ports and you can imagine the carnage that would cause once the engine is fired up. It's Murphy's Law.. I always like to see the intake ports covered with painters tape of plugged with paper towels at least.

True John. This motor was completely sealed up and in the car. It's just being stripped down to a long block now. TJ is really good. He's going to do his thing and then clear it out again and wrap it up.
