Question "shocking opportunity"

Okay all....what to do here?

Just back from yearly service and getting ready for winter driving, looks like a couple of little things suggested but apparently rear shocks need replacing as well as the Sottozeros at all four corners.

Is there anything that I should have done at the same time (apart from 4 wheel alignment)? Any suggestions about OEM vs. other shock setups?

Car is a 997.1, '09. I have had it a little over 4 years and it's a year-round DD, ~67,000 km (almost all put on by me), DSC module, exhaust and tune. Track time limited to 1-2 DE days per year. Roads around here are not too bad....I can avoid the dirt tracks and most potholes, but do need to cope with winter driving conditions.

Thanks in advance.
P

Surprising that the rear shocks are already gone with your mileage and no lowering springs?

^ yes, I agree, I kinda doubt shocks are gone? Maybe 60K Miles? 10 years? Do you have some issue like leaking? I would get another opinion, for sure.

Yep then replace is the way to go. Not inexpensive either way.

that sounds awfully excessive for a primarily street driven car.

The ohlins on one of my other cars (Audi RS4) require a rebuild every 15K miles. Reality is you can get away with much longer intervals but probably at some performance degradation.

think your daily driver car. most shocks on a everyday passenger car are gone at 50k miles. with a performance shock it sees harder duty and typically won't last as long. time affects shocks as well as mileage
