2016 Smog, CA

For informational purposes. Smog check time in CA, no more sensors not responding allowed so I had to get my rear o2's turned back on (Thank you EVOMOS for that, fantastic service and turnaround). But since the battery was out had to drive a few miles to get all the sensors ready...took about 30 miles except for one.

The EVAP would not budge, its a royal pain. Smog tech would not test the car because of it so I drove it around another 50 miles. Went back still no jive. I jumped online and searched and came across the 2016 BAR OBDII paper and it says pass is OK MY 2000 and higher even if the EVAP is not ready.

My smog tech still did not believe it so I insisted they run the test and of course it passed. So, if you get grief over it google for the latest OBDII Smog check reference guide and print it out as it seems some smog stations are not up to speed on the rules.

Note my car passed with everything in my sig.
