I've set up a bunch of 997.1s with boost off the line (BOTL) as its referred to and it works well to build boost off the line. You want to have a decat exhaust setup for it though.

I take it it's hard on the cats...when I set up my 3 inch exaust I was told that gesi cats hold better....what would be the most easiest basic setup..just looking for that little bit of boost maybe 5lbs off the line

My tuner keeps telling me it's not available yet & cobb had some issues with it ,which seems fishy to me if everyone is already running it.

Dzenno custom tuned my setup and I have launch control or boost off the line working great on my car. He also cleaned up a lot in the off the shelf map and the car is running incredibly strong on both pump gas and E85 especially E85!!

You have to run catless for boost off the line regardless of what sort of high quality cats you're running.

Mine is a manual and it works great. Its also a nice RPM limiter when sitting at a standstill getting ready to launch. As far as I understood from Dzenno its wheel speed based so it might work across the board for both manuals and tips but he can chime in with the details.

Over the last few days, I've actually been communicating with Dzenno on this very subject.

It is available for manual cars and it's very hard on the cats (irrespective of quality/type), hence the catless setup recommendation.

Would highly recommend going the custom-cobb route for any Cobb tuning, and PTF is the place to go for that, hands down!

Thank you, appreciate it!

@Mattym6, drop me a line. Not sure who you've worked with but it shouldn't be a big deal at all to enable for you if you'd like to try it out.

It used to cut fuel, Does it still cut fuel or does it cut spark now?

On the 997.1s which Matthew has factory ECU allows for boost off the line (BOTL) by having us change a number of ignition timing and throttle tables to get the magic to happen.

On the 997.2 PDK the factory ECU has launch control where it not only builds boost off the line but also uses advanced traction and transmission management to get the car off the line quick. In this case given its a factory option they have to account for the catalytic converters fuel has to be cut as backfires from unburnt fuel would blow right through the factory cats.
