18 wheel

Thinking about buying a cheap 18" wheel for my occasion trip to the track.

Any recommendations? Dont care about weight. plan to use them 1x to 2 x a year, so no need for $$$

997, WB fitment. Rear only.

18x11 probably with a 305 DR.

Why not 18x12?

With your application, you need more rubber on the strip/track. Maybe a 51 offset with a 315/30/18 tire?

If you're molding, maybe larger?

You dont want to stretch a radial tire more than suggested. It prevents it from doing what it was intended to do!

for drag applications the taller sidewall is actually more important than the width. a taller sidewall allows for more flex and the ability to run a lower pressure for more hook. rubber band sidewalls just dont work at the track

18" are the best choice from a performance standpoint as they have more sidewall than 19s.

I run 18x10 with 275/35/18 and 18x13 with 335/30/18 NT01s. Fronts are 25.4" and rears are 26.0" tall which gives you a 0.6" delta making it safe for AWD set ups on the 7TT

Thanks for the input. I like the taller sidewall.. also easier on drivetrain parts. (in theory)

That looks great!

What shop did you get your wheels from? Do you have any more pictures? I would PM you but PM's are disabled for you!
