Starting issue

Hi
2007 997 T with 35K miles.
over the past 1-2 years, when starting car ( hot or cold) it will take 5-10 quick turns of the key before the car would start.
New battery, can hear a loud "clicking " sound with a robust turnover of the engine once it starts

Dealer took a look, says it is a "module" in the steering column that is the problem. They said that if you put key in ignition, wait 5-10 seconds then start it allows the module to "activate".
Repair would require taking apart the steering column at a large expense
No warning lights on dash

Picking car up tomorrow and cab test this theory out

Thoughts ? Wonder if this module is a known issue or will just be a bother for now

test this out yourself then report back, also ask them for the part number for said alleged module..... check the pricing yourself, the level on installation difficulty and go from there.....
