996 turbo wheels on 997.1 turbo

Apologies if it’s been answered before, but I searched high and low and couldn’t find a clear answer.
I saw the reverse was true where original 19in 997TT wheels will fit on a 996TT, but wanted to know if it works the other way around and will the 18in 996TT wheels work on the 997TT

997TT
Front: 8.5 x 19 ET56
Rear: 11 x 19 ET51

996TT
Front: 8 x 18 ET50
Rear: 11 x 18 ET45

Using online offset calculators, in front I should have 12mm more inner clearance and same outer clearance, and in rear 6mm more inner clearance bur extend out 6mm more.

For tires I was going to go with 235/40/18 front and 295/35/18 rear to keep the same overall diameter as the 19in wheels.

It seems like everything should fit reasonably well, but wanted to see if anyone had any real world experience with the fit and if there’s anything I’m overlooking.

Thanks!

Posting here for reference in case anyone wants to do this in the future. I can confirm that the 18in 996 Turbo twist wheels (non hollow spoke) do indeed fit on a 997 Turbo.

996 Turbo Look II BBS wheels

Front

996.362.134.05

8 x 18. ET50

Rear

996.362.142.01

11 x 18 ET45

Tire sizes that keep the same circumference as stock tires so as not affect the AWD system:

Front: 235/40/18

Rear: 295/35/18

I went with Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus all-season tires because I’ll be using these as my winter setup and we don’t get crazy snow in my area

Clearance of the brake caliper and face of the wheel in the front are a bit tight but no risk of rubbing. I‘ll probably go with a 5mm spacer just to give a little more room.

Well, hope this helps someone down the road someday. I’ve always loved the Turbo twists, might get these refinished in original silver in a few years…

Are the hollow spokes different fitment? I'll guess that these wouldn't fit the 997 Turbo with PCCBs?

My sense is the hollow spokes would work too, but I didn’t want to make the claim without knowing for sure.

As for PCCB’s if they’re any larger than the steel setup then it’ll be cutting it really close

Also, after a few days on this setup it is butter smooth on rough roads. The extra rubber makes a big difference

Love the color of your car & goes great with the black wheels ,but the fitment looks off with too much wheel gap imho, but as long as you like it thats all that matters. To me stanch is critical ,maybe lower it ?

Thank you!

Good eye. Pics were taken right after I put the tires on and before I had a chance to drive it so suspension hadn’t had a chance to settle down yet. It settled down after the first drive and the wheel gap is now at the stock level
