Driving 997TT on track
We took the 997TT to the track...
babies getting ready...

my meteorite...well at least for some time...

cars ready for the track...

we had 7 cars for testing, all with different options. An entire day at the track, basically test everything we wanted.

SY looks good...

taking a break...

putting the babies to sleep...

i will write the whole story when i get time... so far all I can say is I am impressed with the 997TT...

hello guys, sorry I couldn't get to answer until now, but for those who don't know me, my wife here:

banned internet acces at home, and for a good reason. I now understand.
I don't have as many pics as I would want, when I worked for Porsche I had the entire event, meaning days, to drive and take pictures (with full access), but now that I am only invited I either drive or take pics, the choice is quite obvious. But here is one of the white one.

the event was aimed to press and select customers, also invited were Porsche Club memebers who helped unite the 5 generations of Turbo

and I qualify in all 3 categories, press, customer and porsche club.
We had 7 turbos to play with displaying all sorts of options. Even if Tip is faster on paper I believe on the track I would manage a faster lap on the manual. Sport chrono is well worth it and PCCB's as well. Sport seats a must, and they are free!!! Thick steering wheel should be standard but is not, get it anyhow.
At Mexico City's altitude the Turbo feels faster than enything else, aspirated cars loose 25% of power and Turbos 10% tops but usually only 5%. So this fair advantage makes the Turbo the fastest car around here. The new generation turbo's have a linear push that doesn't seem to end. Quite neutral handling, not understeer set as other modern cars, the Turbo enters the turns quite well, some twitching until the late entering PTM and PSM correct trayectory and make everything ok, quite fun. Some leaning in the turns, this is no GT3, but I think it will cope quite well on roads, the track is just too demanding. Well, I'm just babbling here as I came over to pick some needed papers for tomorrow, I'll see ya tomorrow late afternnon see what has developed on the board. Thanks and bye.

Wow very cool writeup. Would love to hear more if you can share. One thing that always kinda bugged me with the 996 turbo is the short 1st gear. Is it the same on the 997? What about the clutch takeup. On the 996 it was difficult to be smooth starting from a standstill. 997? Thanks!

I first jumped into the white one, mainly because it was empty, and soon find out why, it had the horrendous light wood interior and also notice clutch was not smooth. Nonetheless the SY had a wonderful clutch. But each car had something, the red one had a noisier engine for example, like valves hitting, tak, tak. tak, but it runned fine. Nonetheless clutch is much improved no doubt about it.
