Tinted side markers

Stopped by at Detailing Dynamics yesterday and Matt was working on some interesting stuff including some tinted side markers and brake lights. I've never been much of a fan of this kind of stuff because it's usually too dark and looks a bit too "blingy" for my tastes. Not to mention the risk of someone running into you LOL!

I had Matt throw on some prototypes of the side markers and I think they look very good. Not too dark and they happen to go really well with my slate grey. I tried to take a few photos but they're not really coming out that great. They look much better in person.

I've also attached a pic of the brake lights he's working on.

I did the same thing to my CTTS, not to dark just smoked. Too dark makes it look like cheap plastic imo.

Big fan of the fronts but the rears don't require it. Reminds me of the 90's when the Mustang GT's would do "blackouts" all around. We thought it was soooo cool then. Just like we thought chrome 17 inch rims were the shizzle.

It's a very good looking car...probably I'd have tinted just the white part of them.
Side markers are definetely OK

I saw the sides in person on Chris's car, they look good on slate, but not better than clears imo. His fabspeed exhaust sounds awsome btw, the best I've ever heard on a 997TT. ZERO drone.

I think that the slight tint looks good on "grey" cars but I think that clears would look better on colored cars such as my Cobalt, etc.

I have those bulbs too...love them! The high beam bulbs are HARD to get to and I still haven't gotten around to putting the foglight bulbs in.

Hoen has the Endurance for 997TT now, I think the dark yellow fog might look pretty nice on the Turbo.

I would be very paranoid about anything that could potentially reduce the reaction time/stopping distance of someone who is following too close behind me. I remember reading somewhere that one of the most common accidents for a porsche is being rear ended because people are suprised by the stopping power they have. Something I have witnessed more than once myself when tailgaters have ended up in medians and shoulders because they were following too close behind me. I now keep a watchful eye in my rear view mirror commuting on the 95.
