I know several members are now proud owners of the new PDK cars. This week, Porsche had several cars at Motorsport Ranch just southwest of Ft. Worth, TX. The deal was run by all the guys at Barber and sponsored by Park Place in Dallas. We got to track the cars seriously hard, accelerate and launch, and just plain try to hurt them any way possible. I am here to say that anyone skeptical of the new PDK should change their mind now. I am an F1 fan, and was leery of the new system. Wasn't sure I was going to like it. Wrong!
We drove the Carrera S with Sport Chrono Plus. 0-60 is 4.1 secs or lower, and once you understand the shifting, anyone can drive this car like an instructor. I'm a huge fan of high horsepower, but I have never quite seen 385 hp put to the pavement so stongly. If you are on the fence, get one.

Big screw up not going. Did the skid pad wet with and without PSM. What a joy to do a 720 on wet pavement in a Porsche and get told you can do it intentionally. When the GT2 and GT3 hit the market with PDK, the bar will be set seriously high. The line forms behind me!
Those will be the lights that all other car owners recognize as a reason to get the hell out of the way, a Porsche is coming fast.
