If you get it CPO in USA and extended warranty in USA, the extended warranty will only be valid in USA. I don't think the Canadian dealers will honor it.

However, since you have 1 month of factory warranty left, you can drive into and ask one of your local dealer to check the car out (you may need to pay 1 to 2 hours of labour), and see if they will offer any extended warranty from them to you.

Good luck.

The warranty is for North America so it will be valid in Canada.

Some manufactures in Canada will not CPO a US vehicle anymore.

If you do get a CPO for your car, let us know. I want to look into it for my car.

looking into an ensureall warranty at the moment...

http://www.ensurall.com/bumpertobumper.html

the fully loaded warranty for 5 years or 75 more k on it is 3450 ...

however it says the oil must be changed every 3 months or 5k whichever comes first...isnt that a little much? considering I wont drive it in the winter and barely put 5 k on it within 3 months...

how ofter does porsche recommend changing the oil?

Ed,

is your car out of warranty yet?

if not, there is an extended warranty that is offered through the service dept of MCL. Basically they need to inspect your car when it still has some warranty left. If it passes, then you can buy anywhere from 3 to 7 years of extended warranty.

My brother just did that on his cobalt blue 997S (imported from USA) that he bought from me. I plan to do the same to my club coupe at the end of this year.

You'll have to ask Ray or John how the warranty works with modded car.

Are you shopping for a GT3??

When I wen into McL to enquire about the extended warranty they checked with the insurance company and found that if the car had ever been on the track, they would not cover engine related claims. Because I had asked about coverage for cars that had done Driver Education days (like mine) they would not offer me a policy!

Hi Hugh,

Haven't seen you for a while, how are you doing? Did I see you driving down Arbutus this am?

When my brother bought his warranty, he probably answered "No" to track driving as he doesn't do it.

I wonder how they will know that the car has been to a track if you don't disclose.

Tim, I am not sure but I think I might have seen your brother driving near the Mission Track some time last year.

I doubt that they will suspect that I have tracked mine

Hi Tim; I did see you and 13 this am. I'm sure Ed's car would never be suspected of ever seeing the track. In retrospect I'm kind of ticked at myself for bring it up as if there was a warranty claim I think they would have to prove that it had been "educated" (Might not be too hard with all the pictures that float around on the net.) After they did check with the companies head office to see if driver's ed cars (not track cars) would be covered, they said "since your car had been on track for a PCA event, we can not insure it"
