Does anybody have this radar detector?
I drove today on my errands and crossing nearby towns this little thingy was telling me that almost each other traffic light is a hidden radar. In same cases radars were coming in number of 3 to 4 from different directions.

I realize it is not that important to pay attention to it on small town roads but i am just curious - is it a normal behavior for this model?

V1 is very sensentive. If is is in big A mode it will be very chatty in the city. This is like HWY on an Escort. Little L or Big L would big like the City mode on an Escort.
The awesome thing about the V1 is the arrow and the bogey counter. I am sure you were seeing 3-4 automatic door openers. But the neat thing is if you know you should only get 1-2 bogey in that area then you would know the overs could be real police and not just garbage.

Yes, I find the best logic mode for me is "L". It fliters out most bs signals.

Thanks everybody. I looked at its manual but somehow missed all those multiple different modes.
So, while driving on a highway - it is still OK to remain in L mode or do you change it to A?

I would change to A on the hwy that does not travel through town. You can also get/make a remote mute switch. Mine is on the back side of the computer stalk. Press the little button and it will mute the sound or just press the big button to mute also.

As mentioned, there are 3 modes for different situations. If that doesn't work for you, the unit is mildly programmable. An internet search should turn up instructions for you.

I use big L everywhere as well. You will also find that the V1 will pick up other cheap "leaky" radar detectors as you drive by them... Somewhat annoying, but the price you pay for sensitivity, directional arrows, and the bogey counter...

Leave it in "L" all the time. You will get random hits on the highway especially going through big cities. The logic mode in the V1 is very very good!
