pbarch1 is infamous around these parts
I have had a Smart top on my cab for 2 years now. Love it!!
beyond the one touch open close, which pretty much eliminates worrying about when to stop holding the button. The fact that the alarm now chirps at me makes it worth it, oh and holding the alarm button when entering the car will also drop the top, pretty cool device.

Not working in my car - tried it with the belt on and no indicator saying it's in the full down position. Windows going up is the only way to be sure.

Interesting... I see the attached indicator until it's all the way down (or up) and it goes off right before the windows start to go up...

This is an '09 997.2 C2S cab with SC

Dropping the top with key is pretty cool when I can time it right...most times I can't. How long after pressing the button do you release it? By the time I notice that the top has begun moving and I release the button, it's too late -- I've held it too long again! Any tips?

This will happen from time to time but the car has trained me such that whether I am close or at a distance the microsecond I hear or see movement in the top (the body section closest to the fixed portion of the car) or windows I quit pressing the key button. If I get the timing wrong I just lock the car from the key and then unlock/lower it again and it will work from there.

Apparently, I just need more practice from a closer distance....or a better eyewear prescription. I'll try it with the key more often and see if that helps. Otherwise, I'll be off to my optometrist, who I haven't seen in years.

Installed the Smart top today - happy to say the one touch eliminates the worry about when the top is stowed and when the windows will rise. It's nice to drop it when approaching the car too. The other feature that's cool is it will unlock the doors as you switch the ignition off. Worth it at $320 IMO!

I also got a SmartTop on the last GB. I completely agree that it is a very worthwhile mod.
