Softronic cable activation?

I bought the Softronics ECU reflash with the upgraded durametric cable and I ran the flasher software that is supposed to get the original tune to be emailed to Softronics. When I run the software it gets to the last checklist item and then says wrong cable for application.

I have it plugged in properly in the OBDII, green light showing. The cable itself says "For use on Porsche" printed on the front. I did read a post on here where I think someone had a similar problem and Softronics had to activate the cable remotely....

Anyone know if that is whats going on?

I had the same issue, i uninstalled the software & drivers and re-installed it and it went away

If it is an activation issue, contact Softronic or the place you bought it, i got great service from both

BTW, what is that phisically, I mean - that original softronic cable? When connected to notebook it shows up as 'durametric' cable but not any single version of durametric software accepts it.

just curious.

I ordered the upgraded durametric cable...not sure if the standard cable will do anything except flash the ECU, but the upgraded cable is supposed to do a whole lot more. Unfortunate I cant use it yet. Havent heard back from anyone at Softronic or Vivid yet but I cant blame anyone its the weekend.

I'll keep the thread up to date. I would like to make a new thread after I see how the reflash will compliment the recent mods I have done, AWE cats and X-51 headers. I love the new sound and the drivability. Car does seem to have more power...its actually very noticeable. Looking forward to a 7500 rpm redline and a 93 octane map to top it all off. I also ordered a drop in Green Filter, which I prefer over cotton gauze type filters like K&N and BMC. I think the woven material is stronger and a better way to go, as Ive seen some big holes before in used cotton gauze filters. I also dont think Im going to spring for the $260 red silicone hose. Prob just best to keep the rest of the intake stock and use the drop in filter for a little less restrictive airflow.

Hello,

The cable has been activated. It had been plugged into another car prior to you getting it. Emailing or calling is always much quicker than posting in a forum.

Best Regards,
Scott

Problem solved no worries...I uploaded the files yesterday...had to do it twice I left out my email and octane on the first one.

On the second one I forgot to mention sport throttle always on, but I called and left a msg to add it in....

Thanks everyone again for the help! Ill post a short review after I get the file installed and drive a few days.
