Does anyone know if the new chrome three spoke wheel only comes in a PDK version? I've not see a wheel without paddles.

I see it is available. In all the multitude of options, can you go to the new wheel with the small round airbag on a 6 speed 997.1 car without issues? Does the wheel just fit and the airbag plug in? I have a triangular multi function wheel.

Yes the bolt that holds the 997.2 pdk steering wheel on is the same as the 997.1.

I can help you with the install if interested just bring me some beer and we're in business.
Is this offer open to anybody?

Thumbs up 997.2 multifunction faceplate exchange

Just want to thank all you guys, particularly Kaz and greenpdk, for your detailed instructions and great pics on the steering wheel. I have my wheel parts off, and I'm just waiting for the multifunction faceplate to arrive and install, then off to the dealer for hopefully an easy reprogram. If they knew as much as you guys on the forum these cars would be even more fun; thanks again.

My 09 C2S w/PDK and heated steering wheel doesn't have it. I don't mind at all but my wife has been rather insistent about adding the multifunction buttons as she's quite uncomfortable taking her hands of the steering wheel while driving my car. While I'm not averse to adding it (wife said she'd pay for it anyway), this seems like an awfully confusing process for something that should be terribly simple. After reading through the thread I'm more confused than when I started.

Curious if you can cycle through your Sirius presets with a button on the wheel. Can that be programmed?

The right thumbwheel will skate around your sirius presets and clicking it will select them.

The right wheel on the multifunction control works like the right **** on the PCM.
The left wheel is the volume like on the PCM.

So the steps would be to 1) get the PCM TO the XM screen (SAT) and then the right **** could select stations.

There is one button that can be programmed to one of several options (you set it in the PCM, so you can change its purpose) and thus you may be able to use that button to more quickly get you to the menu needed to scroll through stations (ie, the button may bring up a source-select or something.... I forget what the options are - I've got mine set to 'turn off the PCM display'.

My programmable button doesn't work yet.

It had the "change PCM screens" function until I stupidly did a PCM reset, now it only does "change audio source."

If anyone happens to know the magick incantation I can pass along to my dealer to enable the button customization I'd really appreciate it!

I don't know if its magic, but I'd make sure the PCM is coded to know there is a multi-function wheel installed so that the PCM enables the multifunction settings submenus.

Yeah, I wish I had something concrete to give them. A TSB or something.

Sucks that so much of this is dealer-controlled only.

Well, I took it back to the dealer to try and get the PCM multi function wheel option enabled...no dice. They were, however, able to get the PDK display to work! So that's something.

I remember there may be some conflict between paddle shifters (and/or PDK) and the multifunction wheel. Do you have paddle shifters?
