i actually like the wheel on the '10 Turbo. The polished metal looks classy. I wonder if that can be retrofitted also.

We have the new paddle steering wheel, we're testing it now. It's frickin beautiful, padded too.

Any ideas on how much that would run and if it is retrofitable into an '09 C2S PDK?

It appears that it should be a direct fit, but we want to test it first. I'm currently guessing just under $1000.00. But not sure yet, still need to test it. It's a thicker steering wheel, it's the best looking steering wheel Porsche has ever made (IMO), and the paddles are a bit more logical than the typical PDK style. Seems like a cool upgrade, I'll update when I can.

Nice! I wonder if they will be coming out with a multi-function version of this wheel. I think I would like the paddles, but I don't really want to give up the MF wheel.

$100 Glue???

The Carlsen Porsche bid was without the "$100 glue". So they claim if I choose not to go with the glue, they would not guarantee the work.

So if I choose to do the work myself, I would still need to pay $165 to a dealer for activation. So my net saving is only $165. Since I am thinking about different ways to add bluetooth and iphone to my Bose, I might just combine all the dealer activation in on shot.

Ok this has the potential for being a stupid question....but is there really glue involved in this installation?

I had my dealer do the install and everything works well except that the bottom of the trim piece (at the 6 o'clock position) actually floats a little...meaning you can press it and it will flex to the base of the wheel. It is not a mechanical issue but a nuisance as the rest of the trim is rock-solid. Did my dealer miss a step?

Glue?

For the paddle steering wheels, the only other option is Sport Chrono Plus. No multifunction options are available.

a word of caution

Since heated wheel is not an installable item....
For anyone trying to install a new wheel on a 997.2. After collecting as much data as possible this is what I have come to understand: 997.1 multifunction wheels used a wiring harness and loom, so they were not plug-n-play. The new wheels don't need wires or any additional parts, but if your car didn't come with a multifunction wheel and you're having one installed, the car's software has to be modified, reprogrammed by the dealer in order for the car to recognize it. This is different from activating it in PIWIS. Apparently there is a control module in the steering column that must be accessed and reprogrammed. My car goes in tomorrow for the 2nd time with a non functioning MF wheel, but now my techs have spoken with another dealer who has done this. I'll post the results. One caveat, this need to reprogram software may only apply to 6 speeds?

The new wheel feels great. I can't wait to get the heat working.

so are there two different wheels in each color? One for sport chrono cars and one for non-sport chrono?
