How funny, I just ordered the same thing from Ryan at Suncoast and it is arriving tomorrow. I guess you go first and I can't wait to see your result.

Is it somewhat plug and play?\ or is it necessary to pay one million dollars for some 5 minute PIWIS setup?

Hmmm, I didn't think there was ANY Porsche oem part for less than $200. When factory ordered, it's $615. Nice find!
BTW, it says instructions included, but "Requires dealer activation". Problably another $200?

Anyone know why we cant add it to a manual 997.2 just as cheaply. I really would have liked to add that option to mine.

I just spoke to Ryan at Suncoast. He recommends that the dealer do the installation because the air bag is involved. He thought it would be a 1-2 hour job. Apparently the new unit is installed then the car has to be programed to accept the new multifunction device. There are no installation instructions with the unit.

I would like to d-i-y. Anyone have more information?

Thanks

I called my dealer and he quoted me on the installation. It will be 2 hours and $280. If I install the part myself then the price would be $170 for the programing. Any thoughts?

What dealer did you call? I called Autogallery and got them same quote. It might be worth it if we are stuck with having to pay the $170 just to have them turn on Multifunction. I cant believe there isnt a way for us to hack the system and turn that on.

I did call Autogallery. If you find a way to install the part, I would love to see the instructions. We are probably at their mercy as far as the programing goes.
