What do you guys think of my new idea. Fabricating plastic "diffuser" fins.

Go for it!! I think it might look pretty good and should not be too difficult to do (or is that the final product )

What you don't like the current material? It's really light weight lol. I'm thinking of just making a template for them and making them out of ABS plastic sheeting. Any ideas what a good thickness would be for each fin? 1/4in, 1/2in?

Not sure about thickness, but maybe they should be tapered from the base to the tip like a shark fin. How do you suppose they will be attached? If the base was flat and had somewhat of an extension maybe some plastic rivets? Just throwing out ideas.

I thought about the extension thing. Another idea I have that would be totally reversible is to cut the fins out of say a 1/4in platic sheet (needs to not flex) and then bond those to a really thin completely flixible sheet (I have left over from my led project, that's what got me thinking of this). Basically you would then have a full diffuser which could be double sided taped to the bumper. I would also probably make it extend far enough to be screwed where the bumper mounting points are on the bottom for extra support.

Pardon my ignorance, but does this plastic handle heat well? I ask that die to the obvious proximity with the exhaust...
