Last year, I did 3,000km in a long weekend - Adelaide to Uluru and back in 4 days in my 997 C2S with a couple of friends in other cars.

We liked it that much that we are going back this year with a larger group - 10 cars so far including 3 Lamborghinis and several Porsches. Other Porsche owners are welcome if any Aussies are interested. PM me for details.

Longest trip so far is Boston to Washington D.C. Some great roads and others that felt like they'd been hit by a meteor shower. The shocks were working over time.

Well, in that spirit then: La Jolla, CA to Indian Harbour Beach, FL in less than 48 hours in a 1997 E320. Slept for a few hours near Seguin TX. The weirdest thing was that "sea-legs" feeling whenever I got out of the car to gas it up and go to the bathroom. The ground felt like it was constantly rolling underneath me as I was walking on what I am sure was firm ground!

I drove several times from Ft. Gordon Ga to Ft Huachuca AZ in my 1983 911 SC. On another note I drove my 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser 10,800 miles round trip From Augusta Ga to Tikal, Guatemala. I love to drive :-)

Indiana to San Diego is this. NEVER AGAIN, though San Diego to Las Vegas in the car when it was 117 out was just as bad.

Seattle to Virginia

Made the trip from Seattle, WA to Virginia to pick up my "new to me" 997S. Fantastic trip, 4600 miles and I drove on Route 66 and the Blue Ridge Parkway, (as well as a rapid pass through Death Valley to "stretch the legs" on 997).

I would do it again in a second!

I've done many 1000 mile plus road trips. In fact, road trips are the only time I drive my car.

My friends are huge car enthusiasts and we regularly do cross country drives and then ship our cars home. We've had incredible experiences and have become family.

A few pics from a run from Phoenix to San Fran via the Pacific Coast Highway:

Seattle to Philadelphia. Done it 4 times. Twice with a 26' uhaul with a flat car trailer. Then once in a Jeep Cherokee without cruise.

Last and most fun time was in my old E92 328xi manual. Real fun, think I did it in 44 hours.

My wife and I travelled from Toronto To Naples Florida this past winter. Left 27 Dec and arrived in Naples on the 29th of December. 2 nights in the Hilton chain helped to break up the trip.Tennessee and Kentucky was a great drive. The Smokey Mountains were a treat to drive through, lots of turns and a few spots to unleash my 2008 c4s cab. 6 speed.
Then in April, we got to do it all over again. This time back up to Toronto.
The car ran great and what I was really concerned about with my wife as the passenger, was if she would be comfortable for a trip of this length. To my amazement she said she could not have been more satisfied with the drive. (whey, was I happy about that:-))
