Question Bilstein damptronics v.s. KW V3 ?

Can't decide.

The Bilstein's possibility to keep my PASM option attracts me a lot (i live in potholecity)

on the other hand, KW is more adjustable...

Let's say i'll do w-e track ? Which model will i enjoy the most ?

Is any member tried both on a 997 ?

thanks

i love my KW's,

i dont need the adjustable suspension, its just a perk that some use and others think they notice... never missed any pasm'ness... i love how the car feels the same regardless.. and i know when its going to slip and so forth. instead of it adjusting and messing up what i thought i knew.

also my indoor parking bugs me. I'm already scrapping with the bumper on sport mode...

What is the minimal lowering adjustement possible on both damptronics and KWv3 ? 10mm or more ?

What is the lowest lowering adjustement possible on both damptronics and KWv3 ? 10mm or more ?
I presume you're asking what is the minimum amount of lowering that can be done on each, not the lowest setting.

Thanks for clearing that up.

KW's much better for track work, Damptronics better for mix that you are looking for.

Not sure what this means.....'already scraping on sport mode'.

If you have PASM, your car is dropped about 10mm....mode switch has nothing to do w/height.
Per the minimum adjust......I do not know KWs. Damptronics are like most any coilover.....they can be adjusted to 2mm if you are able to screw with that much detail on the threaded body.....this allows full adjust of rake, height, corner balance.
Hope this helps.

Pker is infamous around these parts
Currently Im using Damptronics and I feel the ride is harsh, what I mean by that is when I go over rough pavements it doesnt absorb. It deflects it and makes the ride bumpy which is not good especially when you have a female passenger on board. On tarmac I can say these are awesome but the problem is my car is mainly for street use and the road here in my country is wack.

Just wondering if any KW V3 users will chime in and share their experience. I've heard many good things about them but not much from a 997.

i saw 997 kw packages with kinda weird spring packages, like 400lbs front 1085lbs rear. 1K+ lbs spring is very stiff. I ride on JRZ RS shocks and 600/700 springs and it is very streetable setup. damptronics imho come with 450/600 springs - some say it is a bit too soft for track but good for a street. research this topic a bit.

With the right installer your can get the 'perfect' setup with the KW's for your driving needs. It may take some time and more $$ thrown at it but it is the superior setup.

On saying that 90% of the drivers out there the KW setup is way overkill, my .02 is if you track the car 4+ times a year it might be wise to go KW, failing that Bilstein will be fine.

I have a set of Damptronics on my 09 C2S. To me the ride is about the same in the soft setting and firmer in the firm setting. On track it makes a reasonable compromise. I'm happy with them for the three/four track events I'll do each year. I drove Moton Club Sports with 500/650 springs on the street in a 993. The ride wasn't bad at all. A good adjustable shock will surprise you with what it can do when properly setup for the street or track.
