Finally pics of my 1 week old 07' 911 C4S with Pioneer Avic-Z110BT Lots of Pics!
Hey Guys,
2 newbie questions:
1) OP you said your on a lease but still installed a new head unit. Do you have experience with how leasing companies see that on return? are you planing on putting the stock PCM back in?
2) you said you got a loaner while you wait for your Car to arrive. is that a standard? I was told If I custom order one it will take 8 weeks from germany and there was NO word of a loaner in that time

As for a loaner well that's really up to how good of a talker you are and what dealership you are dealing with.
My local Montreal dealership gave me a 2010 Cayenne until my car came in...
When i return the car all i have to do is put back the stock head unit and that's all.

Question about lost Sport Chrono functions when upgrading to aftermarket nav system
[quote=DocMartin9;2906375]You can no longer change daytime running lights after you take out the original head unit. Not really a big deal though.
BUT, if you have the Sport Chronos feature your stopwatch will still work but you can no longer review your lap times after the fact. The lap time appear in the window below the tach for 4 seconds. It would be stored in the head unit for later review but you will lose that.
Hi, this is my first post, so go easy on me. I have had my 08 C4S (no Bose, does have Sport Chrono) for a few months now and really miss bluetooth, ipod and XM. My stereo guy is pushing the Alpine W900 unit. If I swap this out I understand I lose the ability to change the daytime running light, wiper and auto locks. What happens to those settings? What do they default to?

Mine stayed the same as the last setting before I removed the head unit. So, I got the settings the way that I wanted and pulled it out.
I didn't realize the auto locks were on there. Just learned something...thanks. Probably would have set those to ON.
Good luck!

I laughed when I saw this thread because in a few days I'll be posting a thread entitled "Finally pics of my 1 week old 07' 911 C4S with Pioneer Avic-Z120BT Lots of Pics!"
Thanks very much for posting, and great car! I actually sent one of your photos to the folks doing my radio install to show them exactly what I wanted the Pioneer faceplate to look like.

I searched for what seems like forever for a steering wheel control adapter to connect the Pioneer to the 997 steering wheel controls. I could not find one. The guys at Custom Car Stereo here in Houston don't know of one. Nor did a few other shops I talked to. Apparently there's one for the Cayenne of same year, btu no one will tell me it works for the 997.
So, I'm just swapping out the m/f wheel for a DCT MS wheel, because I can't stand to have "buttons to nowhere."

I also installed the Avic-Z120BT , replace all the speakers except for the center channel with Focal speakers and power amp,and hooked the subwoofer to the head unit. Sound much better than OEM, however dissapointed with bluetooth. The music tones down but does not mute. Anybody else had this problem?
Great post. Someone should make a computer/sound system like the 7" Droid. The Droid can do almost everything my double din Kenwood can do and more. I love my Kenwood but since i bought a Droid X, I have been thinking that someone should make a big one for autos. Any thoughts?

For #2: the simple test is that the speaker panels in the doors will have a "Bose" logo in silver on them. Your tagline says you have a GT3.1 - those were not available with Bose as far as I know: just an option called "enhanced audio" (I believe) which includes more door speakers than the base GT3 system. But I don't have a GT3 so I could be wrong.

Can I assume my setup is not using the MOST technology?
