I just measured and the back of the 991 rear seat is only 12.5". Really narrow.

Marc,

I'm not sure how wide the bottom part of the Radian seat is. And they were such a PITA to install, I really don't want to take one out to measure it. Sorry. Maybe someone else can measure the width of the back of the 997 rear seat to compare to your measurement of the 991 back seat. Or you could try to find a baby gear store in your area that carries the Radian and see if it fits in your 991.

So, has anyone figured out which seat fits in the 991? I called Porsche and the harness booster still is not available. I looked at various measurements online and it seems the Safety 1st Go-Hybrid Booster is pretty small as is, the Diono Radian r100. I haven't tried either yet. I'm picking the car up in a week or so.

Just making the 991 owners aware who are reading this. While there is a front passenger seat LATCH option for the 991. The law changed and you are not allowed to manually turn off the front airbag. In my mind it makes it unusable for kids.

Sorry to get snotty but read the thread. There are a number of great suggestions within the thread. It will depend on if you need rear-facing or forward. Can you use a booster or do you need a full seat? Several use the Recaro Vivo. One uses the Roundabout 55. I use a Costo forward.

From reading all the prior posts it seemed that the radian folks installed theirs in the 997 and were unsure about the 991. The cosco seat you reference is a straight booster with no harness from what I saw online. Excuse my ignorance for trying to get constructive feedback 3 months after the last post on the topic. I kind of thought someone might have found the ideal option.

Thanks I see it now. I'm getting a cab, don't plan on bringing the child in the car too much but, when he does I think that seat might extend too high. I might have to consider removing the rear seat.

I have three bubble bum seats for my kids that just need boosters at this point. They work great and deflate when not in use... and don't scratch or mark up the leather since they are cloth.

Rbro4,

Let us know what you decide. I use a mat to protect the leather from damage. The Costo seems to work well. It is LATCH and has a 5 point harness. It does not have all of the "safety" features of the other more expensive. But none of them will fit. I believe the Diono Radian r100 will fit but have not tried it.

Here is another thread specific to 991.

I have a Diono Radian RXT in the rear of my 991S coupe. It fits beautifully. I have 6 car seats scattered across 4 cars and this setup is easily the best I have. I use one of those fitted seat protectors to protect the leather, it seems to work. My 3 y daughter loves it.

I'm not a tall guy, so I was just able to get in and kneel in it to tighten it down, and it is rock solid.

Thank you. This looks like a much better seat than the Costo. I will order one.

Any chance we can get you to post a pic of this seat installed? Thanks!
