It has been a while since I ordered the retrofit. Nothing yet. Anybody had theirs done yet? How well does it work?

Mine is on its way on that slow boat from Germany.

Once it arrives, I will be scheduling the installation.

Maybe when I test it out - I can take a quick spin up to Bear, DE.- it is located close to me.

Sounds good, I guess I am getting a little "antsy" The PDK has been a dissapointment to me. They should have included the sport software with every PDK.

The shift points in normal driving are way too quick. seems like I am always driving around at about 1400 rpms in drive. Shifting in manual is not firm enough to satisfy me, reminds me of driving an automatic and shifting manually.

Not that interested in the other features (well maybe launch). If it improves the PDK by raising shift points and firmer shifts if will be worth the cost.

Glad Porsche recognized these issues and has come through with a fix. I know I should have test driven it more when I purchased it, but I wasn't aware of the implications of not having the "sports" mode were, and was just too excited just to get the new Porsche!

 

Just got back from Suncoast. I am on my iPad so this will be short. Suncoast was great and the retrofit with oil change, car wash, and test drive took a total of about 3 hours. Sport holds the gear longer and is how the car should be. My only gripe is 2nd to 1st downshifts are hard. No big deal bc sport isn't really conducive to stop and go cruising. Use it for what it is for and it makes the car better. Sport plus is an animal. No more 7th gear and 1st thru 6th hold much longer. Overall throttle response seems much better also.
If you are on the fence do it and you will be happy. A launch mode test is next up.

Sounds great, can't wait for mine to come in. Regarding the 2 to 1 shift; I had a previous flash upgrade after a "pdk transmission failure" code. It also improved the 2 to 1 shift among other things. Do you know if you have the latest pdk software before they added the sport option?

 

I dunno it is a 2011 car. The hard shift is only in sport or sport plus. Regular mode is smooth.

 

Just ran a 4.19 0-60 in launch mode. Shifts very hard and is awesome. RWHP on the dyno was 259. My car is a 2011 PDK 3.6L with Werks one intake and sport mode retrofit. Sport mode on he highway is a pleasure to drive. Sport plus is just for giggles but if you really want to go fast and shift late hit the button and hold on to your ***.

If anyone is on the fence about the retrofit go for it. The extra PCM options are nice and the car drives much better when you want it to. Couldn't imagine what a ECU flash from one of the better tuners could do but the factory sport modes are very nice.

 

You just made my wait sooooo much longer. It should be here in a week or so, then I have to schedule the service appt. A long week or so it will be !!

Thanks for the feedback. Question; Does 7th gear still activate in sport mode? If true, will it still go into 7th at 47 mph on light throttle, or higher now?

Will sports plus shift at anything lower that redline? In other words; will it still upshift sooner on light or moderate acceleration?

 

Sport mode yes 7th still works but shifts much later. I found myself in 6th mostly doing 60-70 on the highway. Sport plus no 7th gear.

 

Now if you already have software upgrade....but don't have an S but a carrera with PDK will this even be worth it?
