I'm replacing mine this weekend with the Sam's. So you just leave the maintainers plugged into the lighter socket and you're good to go?

Do you want a heavier battery ?!?

I have a brand new Porsche Tequipment Maintainer. I haven't used it yet, but my battery isn't holding a charge anymore, so I figured I'd plug it in from day 1 on the new battery, I only drive the car once every couple of weeks this time of year.

Anyone, so if I plug the maintainer into the cigarette lighter before I change the battery, I wind up with no fault codes or anything right? ...and this is safe?

Before I replace OEM Porsche battery with Walmart MAXX 94R ($90.00) I pluged my Deltran Battery Tender (keep it on my motocycle battery) into center console armrest lighter plug. Swapped out old for new & all was good to go with no fault codes!

Turns out the battery is fine. After putting the battery replacement off (which turned out o be good) and not being able to start my car after driving half an hour ( a bad thing). I brought my car to The dealership. Turns out the cable from the alternator to the battery is bad. Pcar Should be back tomorrow.

How about a lightweight battery replacement?

Except of course the insanely expensive Porsche unit

Search Oddyssey - Optima lighter but not by much over OEM.
